Sorry you're ill. What is it you have, if you don't mind me asking? It sounds really nasty. Is the lung disease related to the muscle illness?
Haven't got lead/got an interesting life, though! Mine is quiet in comparison, but I think I perfer it that way. (I'm a boring old fart at heart!)
Is "Bear" (your partner) "Baron Bear" on h2g2, or is this another researcher or not even a researcher at all? (Sorry if I appear nosey - I don't mean to be!)
I agree with your views about women and have only made a few very good women friends throughout my life. As a rule, I have always got on better with men, probably something to do with have two big brothers. Many years ago, I had a job in a large office with about 20 women and the bitchiness was intolerable. Eventually I asked the Personnel Manager to transfer me to another department. Why some women carry on as though they're still in the playground as adults, completely bemuses me. Still, men don't really grow up either, do they?
*Gwen looks across at her hubby's bike bits in the living room and his scattered motorcycle magazines (or comics, as she calls them)*
Tell Bear that a Harley is known as a "hardly able to" (go round bends) over here!
Do you have an ISBN number for your book? I'd love to read it and could get my local library to order it for me. Funds are so tight nowadays that buying books is a luxury and the only ones I do buy are usually as presents for the kids. I still manage to get loads of second hand books from charity shops and jumble sales though!
I've never heard of the programme "Touched by an Angel", probably because we're in the U.K., but will keep an eye out for it.
Hope your flu gets better soon.

Ask anyhing, I won't think you're nosey. I may not always have an answer for you though I have Eosinaphiaga-Myalgia-Syndrom (EMS)
They say if you can spell it, you must have it! I was poisoned by a toxin in an amino acid. L-Tryptophan. So many have arleady died! I had survirership guilt. (pardon all the typoes-I still have the flu)
People with kids were dropping dead & then there's me. with no one...
& I keep living, not at all fair! Yes the lung thing is all part of it. I 'should' have died in '98. My Dr. says he's not that lucky! HA!
It's nasty! Pain 24/7...but keep my humor. Industrial strenght narcotics barely help. They want to put a pump into a vein at my neck so moraphine can go in every 4 hours, where were these drugs when I could have used them to party with?!? I don't even get a buzz...now THAT'S really unfair!!!
My Bear could'nt write a grocery list. I told him there was a Bear in here. He dosen't seem too interested in h2g2. He just bought Mac so I could have some adult conversation HA! Little does HE know
With regard to the Harley-we know how they break down every five minutes-he just wants it for show. He really wants a 'rice grinder' for work & back. I'm sure he'll be like your John, working on it more than anything else. (in your honor, I've just put Dark Side of the Moon into Mac...hear it? I'll turn it up more!)
People say my life is interesting, but I really don't see it that way. I did'nt get to do 1/2 of what I wanted to do. As for the people I know, my mamma use to say: The only thing you get from rubbing elbows with rich people are worn sleeves! HA! She was the major source of my twisted sense of humor-dad, was the Village drunk. She's gone & he's in a home. Bear helped me care for him at home for 5 years until it about killed me...Doc said he could'nt figure out if I had the biggest heart or the smallest brain?!? (How 'bout that, a young Dr. who still makes house calls!) I'm afraid I was pretty nasty to him the other day-Ah well, he's bitten my head off before too! At least I pay him to take my lip!
Follow the River: by James Alexander Thom: ISBN O-345-33854-5 it's a true story based on the life on Mary Ingles. I loved the book so much Bear bought it for me! I'm really itching to make a movie out of it!
I read it the 1st time many years ago & it always stayed with me. I re-traced some of her foot steps. When I was still able to hike. I live in Ohio. So the story really had lots of meaning to me. Hope you do get a chance to read it.
What are your children's ages & names? Maybe I could write a story for them. I've done that for several of my friends. Kids love to see their names in a story! What types of things are they interested in?
My one friend Jackie-early 30's has 8 children (so far) & they just love my stories! They're into kick-boxing! try writting about that! Sheesh...brain strain!!!
I like you Gweenie! And I don't think your life sounds anything but wonderful! Last Mother's Day I had a miscarriage. The Doc said no more trying for me! Bear dose'nt want them anyway. He was married before & she had her own. He was glad they never had any together. I'm not! I just adore kids! They take a shine to me too! My friend Chris will be having a babe in 5 months...she's hoping for a girl, to name after me! Is'nt that just the sweetest thing ? (here I've gotten myself in tears) Guess I'll just be sticking with four legged critters!
Well, you about know my life story! Maybe we should be e-mailing this stuff. I haven't had a pen-pal since I was a kid...he was in India!
Your turn. Is John going to be okay? Don't talk about anything that makes you uncomfortable!!! And if you want my E I'll give it to you.
There's one other from here I E. There were two but one seems to have vanished? Take care deary! Pan
