Cake?
Gwennie Posted Apr 28, 2000
Do we have to share the cake if we find it and are you sure that Greebo hasn't sneaked in here first and snaffled it?

AEndr, The Mad Hatter Posted Apr 28, 2000
[The cake is a 6 tiered multi part cake, 2 metres by 2 metres at the base and 1 foot by foot on the top tier. All possible cake flavours can be found, please refer to the map before cutting your slice.
The top tier is iced with the numbers "42", the second tier has the h2g2 logo on it, the third says "Don't Panic" in large friendly letters, the fourth depicts a waving towel, the fifth has small figurines of celebrated Guide characters and h2g2 researchers, the sixth is plain - coloured icing pens can be found next to the plate and cake cutting, serving and eating implements, for celebrants to decorate their own slices.
Between the first and second tiers is a big button made from glacier sugar, with the customary "do not press this button" notice. Please do not press the button.
From the third to the fifth tiers is a winding slide for the figurines to slide down. Any researcher who is represented on the fifth tier, please slide your figurine down the slide before eating the figurine.
Over the cake in different places are hundreds and thousands, angelica, little silver balls etc for the researcher's delight. The icings are also different flavours, but due to the nature of h2g2 each researcher will find exactly the combination they want SOMEWHERE on the cake.
If the first 6 tiers are finished, then a crane will be required for layers 7 to 12.
Please, no fighting over the food - it will revolt.]

My goodness 8) !!! Hello & A Very Happy Birthday Fellow Hikers!!!
I knew I'd be over dressed! Excuse me bluDragon...you seemed to have slopped some cake into my clevage! Was that an accident?!? I'm not sure but those fellows coming my way look hungry! Er...maybe I'd better have cake LATER, much later! Would one of you GENTELMEN point me to the martinis? Er, I mean, the bar? You're making me a bit nervous. You know THAT'S a HUGE cake...this is only a tiny bit here on my chest! Why are you looking at me like that?!? Why don't we ALL sing Happy Birthday?!? *slowly, Pandora begins to back out of the door*
May I say, you're ALL quiet handsomely dressed?!? *reaches over and runs her index finger across what appears to be bluDragon's upper lip*
Ummmm...no wonder!!! *tastes remnants of cake* Yummy! I love icing!!!
Ooooo this is JUST the icing on the cake!!!

Gwennie Posted Apr 29, 2000
Is there any cake left for me????
*Looks hopefully at what's left of the multi-story culinary delight and regards her fellow researches who are all covered in cake crumbs and looking rather full.*

Cake?
Pandora Posted Apr 29, 2000
Gwennie, I think this cake was biochemically engineered. It keeps spontaneously regenerating!!! There's a rumor going 'round: if you consume mass quanities you actually become a whole year younger!!!
I, for one plan on eating as much as possible! 8) Pandora

Possum Posted Apr 29, 2000
*Possum walks in after passing the door and hearing someone mention the word 'cake'*
Cake?!?
Gimme Gimme Gimme! Oops, sorry, that was a bit ill-mannered. I meant to say "Could I please have some of that cake if it's alright with you, pretty please?"
