Evening All
Just watched the sun dissapear for the day and it was a nice bright one at that.
Helped Mrs WA hose out the kennels and run they were getting a tad wiffy but now all nice and clean ready for Crimbo. With more ice and snow forecast we decided it was now or never.
I think I can hear t'pub calling, having done a lttle bit of graft I don't feel too guilty

Forgot to add, I bet the lunatic driver was a geriatric, I'm no spring chicken but you wouldn't believe some of the stunts you see over here. We have a large percentage of old folk and there's nothing Mr Plod can do to stop them driving. Trouble is they put everybody around them at risk.

Younger drivers are stastically more likely to have an accident than older drivers.
I don't know if this is per mile or per year. I suspect that older drivers whose faculties are failing tend to not drive a great deal, and only drive routes they know well.

Certain types of incidents are more common with certain age groups, however. There was a fatal accident caused in Salt Lake this summer by an old man who drove onto the wrong direction of the main belt loop around Salt Lake City. Witnesses indicate that he appeared calm and unfazed as he drove into oncoming traffic. The working theory is he mistook the exit ramp for an on-ramp and didn't realize his mistake. The price for this miscalculation was his life and a major snarl of traffic as the lorry that was involved was fully consumed by fire.
I am not stating any of this to try to force limits on driving, but while young drivers are more likely to make certain mistakes, I don't believe this particular incident to be a common occurrence amongst the young.

It happens here in New Jersey. Incidents of this type tend to involve older drivers, newer drivers and drivers under the influence of any age.

Mrs Eats' grandfather fell foul of the older drivers failings, hitting a bollard at a junction. It was a wake up call for him and he realised it was time to stop. Fortunately he was "with it" enough and sensible enough to take that point of view. It's when the older driver arrogantly insists s/he's still competent when they clearly are not that it becomes only a matter of time before someone gets hurt.
Dr Z, that was a very good post for mini's benefit.
The official word today is that compulsory redundancy, if applied to me, puts me out September '12.
Now the game for you all is to pick a suitable occupation that I could apply myself to. (Mrs Eats has ruled out International Porn Star)
