*Hobbles in on her cane and looks around.*
Very nice, indeed, Shirps. I see a rocking chair, mind if I settle there for a bit?
*Sits down and picks up her knitting.*
Lovely!

*Walks in past the creaking door, tries to ignore the orchestrated squeaking from mari's rocker, and sits down, resting a careful elbow on a table*
CREAK! Scrawk!
Nice place - lots of ... er ... character. I'd love a cup of tea ... with just a little shot of rum ... purely medicinal, you understand. Is there a can of oil out the back, or are the creaks all part of the ambience?

well if it's wood oil , but the furniture is rather old so it may be past it - I think we may need an large clock ticking in the background to disguise some of the creaks
Here's a nice of cup of dear (the additional requirement has been included )
Hi mari - what are you knitting there then? Fancy a or or anything else ?

*The creaky door to the Joint swings open and in staggers madmum22, left knee creaking loudly while her cane taps on the floor. She pulls up a chair and props up her cane on the table; it promptly falls to the floor, as usual.*
Good morning, ladies! I see that the meeting of The Young Creaks is in session! What kind of have you got on the menu? I know it's early, but I could really use a good !

Hiya, hold on a moment ... shuffles out to the back room & opens the cupboard ... calls out: what kind of would you like? ...

A plain scone with jam would be nice; any clotted cream with that?
As for the drink, I think that some vodka and will do for now; after all, it's breakfast time!
So, what's new? Shirps, how's that tooth? Did everything go okay at your mum's doctor appointment yesterday? I was sending good thoughts her way all day!

Shuffles out of back room pushing wheely trolley - there you go, the last pot of clotted cream (the suppliers have let me down again - hmmph!), scone & a large V&O - don't forget to put it on the shelf under the table ... looks around ... you never know who may be checking-up on us

Ooops! It's our 3rd wedding anni. tomorrow - I haven't got a card yet . Can someone takeover serving any customers while I "nip" out to the shops - I may be a little while as it takes longer these days

I'm sure that we can handle any incoming customers - discreetly, of course, while we rush to put our drinks on the table shelf.
Unbreakable dishes; nice touch!
Hope you find just the right card! I'll check out the other forum while you're gone.

*While Shirps is gone, madmum22 piles the clotted cream and strawberries onto her scone. With the first bite, half of the mixture dribbles down the front of her blouse. She curses under her breath and attempts to clean up the mess. As she does this, her cane falls over again, clattering loudly to the ground. Rather than bend down, madmum gives the cane an angry kick. She drains her V&O, and refills the glass.
After finishing her substantial, calorie-laden breakfast, madmum limps over to check out the jukebox.*

Hey, if you like Beethoven, I'm sure that we can find some Beethoven here somewhere! Actually, the more calm and soothing the music, the better; that way, we're not likely to jump up to dance, and hurt ourselves!
Or spill our s!!!

Pushes the door with her behind & shoves ... gets in as quick as possible before it begins closing - it closes slowly creeeeeeeeeeak, whhhhhhhhine - thud!! I'll have to remember I don't have to move that fast - phew!
Well after trying 4 shops I finally found a fairly suitable card &, more importantly ... booked a long overdue appointment with the hairdresser (grey hairs? what grey hairs - pure fair hair, coughs) Well at least I do have naturally curly hair when it's fairly short
Ambles over to help madmum find some Beethoven ... accidentally pushes a button : Roll Over Beethoven ...

A suitable card?! Is that all?! Oh well, who am I to complain - I may not even get that much on my anniversary!
I think that another is in order!
While you were gone, I sent a guide article the Writer's Workshop. Yup. Started and finished it in 3 hours yesterday. Take a gander at it when you can, and let me know what you think.
Man, it's cold here! I have to go outside to get to my basement (where the dryer resides), and I thought I was gonna freeze to death!
I can't wait for spring!

Shouldn't we light the fire too? Who can bend down to light the kindling?
I'm taking him out to get a new leather watchstrap & I can choose something made of leather too ... heh, heh ... I'll be fair to him don't worry
Does Rob mind being dragged? Not only that, does he mind all our muddy & smelly feet on him?
