Please please PLEASE remove that picture of the coo-coo-clock from this entry. Should it still be popular in Britain to think that all Germans wether are Bavarians or are living in the Black Forest? In fact the big majority of the Germans *hates* the Bavarians and refuses to identify with any of their "cultural" abnormal habits. Really, 99% of the german population are rather normal and do not have coo-coo-clocks in their homes!

Hi.
I am German (North German, Moin moin!) and my mother has got one of those disgusting things. We never use it as the mere sound drives you crazy. So it's down in the "party cellar" next to Balinesian masks, Kenian artwork and Chinese lanterns.
So much for German traditions...
