A Conversation for Religion - a Perspective

I wonder which religion we are talking about? First I would like to point out that Theology is divided among many different parts of the world. Be it Celtic, Buddist, Shinto, Asatru, Wicca, Christianity, Muslim, Judeaic, Egyptian and the list is endless. From what Ive read is that Religion and philosophy gets shoved together and declared as a general statement to be "EVIL". I cannot agree with this. Religion and philosophy enables the individual to overcome base desires and base wants for the common good.
It is the Human Race that is violent and war-like, not necessarily religion. In most religions and philosophies, people develop a certain way of looking at things. Without the power of myth and legend, we would never attempt to better ourselves. As far as atheism goes, I question the ease in which one declares athiestic behaviour is "the Ultimate Reality". What is true for me may not be for you. I personally believe that the Human spirit and the Human potential exists for great and terrible things.
If for instance Jim Jones came up to you and said on public broadcasting "If you were a good christian, all of you will follow me and commit suicide...." Does that mean every Christian will follow him? No I don't beleive so. Nor is the same thing true of any other religion or philosophy. People are the cause of wars, people are the cause of many atrocities, not religion.
Tolerance, and rejoicing in our differences should be the key not what colour of skin, or what we beleive in. On the highest level, all religions need to be jumped over, and true philosophy begins to take place. This breed of intolerance says more about you and your level of education than anything else.
