I'm beginning to think it might have been an idea to do my page in HTML instead of Guide ML but maybe not...

well, this page is actually done in GuideML- just cuz i got sick of all the error messages i was getting in Html... there are one or two elements i've been experimenting with- my new religion table for one- that i switched over to html for- but you can do that inside of GuideML and just have that little snippet of html code. sorta convenient!

oh! and if you're going to start going all out, i'll give you another tip i just came up with-

when you make a lot of code on your page, it can get tough to keep track of what's what. for easy reference, use LOTS of spaces between your scgments- it makes it easier to scroll thru and edit later.

also, you can LABEL your sections of code using this tag:
<!-- Hi Tweet! type anything you want here! -->

you can make them REALLY BIG
(<!-- --------------all the way across the page------------------------- --&gt
and then you can see what part of the code you're in at a glance

Enough of that!

as for the Angels Picture, if you want the one from my page, you can borrow it off of my source code. (mine is also a link to the site)

if you want the one with the flashing banner, you're gonna hafta wait a few days til God's back in town. you COULD pirate it from his
site (or mine, at the very bottom of my code) but it will be a broken link in a few days. HE's planning on moving it's URL to the Guardian Angel E-mailbox

Question- how do you do stuff like that, the graphics and stuff. I'm just asking as I want to design a logo for PETwerewolves (the society with no point- we just like the acronym) and have no clue how to- HELP!
I'm fairly disappointed as I can't join the Church of Weekendism. Love the weekends but I'm a bit of a workaholic so it might go against their principals if I joined

as for the logo and graphics... GOD gave me a great link, but i haven't tried using it for logos yet..

as for how to replicate any elements on my page, you can
a) specify which element, and i'll put the code in a separate forum for you to cut and paste;
b) find it in my source code and borrow it.. <--better choice.. you learn a TON reading other people's code!

i found a site FULL of pics. almost too many. not animated either. it's free if you tell it you subscribe to the free version. what makes it different, is that it has more than 3000 angel pics... which no other site i've found yet has... i'm not sure about tweety.. didn't check. sorry! you'll see why tho!

Next: bandwidth bandits... i'm a little vague on it as well, but it was explained to me as this: most companies/people/whatevers have to pay money for their websites... even if they don't, they only have a limited amount of space (memory) allotted to them.

often, when people would find a gif they liked, instead of downloading and storing it themselves, they'd simply LINK to the SITE they FOUND it at... this meant that say every time you loaded MY page, it would have to ask CLIPART.COM for the info.. increased traffic on Clipart's page, making their site slower...

somewhere along the line it got to the point where it was a real problem, and now it's the HEIGHT of bad form to simply LINK to the site. if you want a gif, you should save/download it, then find a place to upload it to.

NOTE!! pirating gifs within h2g2 (ie: the angel pic) is NOT a problem, as it is all internal traffic anyway, and they can afford it!

i have NO idea if all that made sense. most likely you'll just tease me for being longwinded!

LAST the RED DOT.
i had it figured out, but you did something which deactivated the code on your page. if you can make the fireworks work again, i can copy your code and show you where the dot is coming in. otherwise, i'll just tell you that I BELIEVE that you have an extra tag. it is in the first line where it sets the font color to red. then it closes the div before it gets a chance to give it the orders... hm. if you NEED that try sticking it somewhere else... just a thought... otherwise, keep it all, and change the "." (period) (at the end of the statement that turns it red)to "&nbsp" (no quotes)

aw heck..

also.. you MAY want to consider changing over to GuideML if you're not in it now... it doesn't let you get away with extra/not enough tags.
