LOL. cool!
Ok. uploading your gif. you need to find a site that'll give you storage space. um. lessee. sites that give you a free homepage will also give you free storage. (we're not talking h2g2 here..!)
if you have ICQ then you have free storage when you go to your member's homepage... they actually give you TONS of space. i also know that
http://deja.com
gives its members (free membership) a webpage, storage, and email. all free.
enough of that. suffice it to say you need to find an ONLINE site that'll give you some storage space.
NEXT: wherever you choose, go to your SITE MANAGER or FILE MANAGER. it'll have an option to upload a file. click that, find the file on your computer, and upload it. once it's up, open it, and whatever the address in the browser is, is where you want to LINK TO. ie: (left out the colon on purpose so it wouldn't actually work! )
or something to that effect! lol
have fun!
how'd the tutoring go? are you tutoring, or being tutored?

Archangel Tweetie (01/06/02...) Posted May 4, 2000
Being tutored. I bombed in my maths prelim so I'm getting a little extra help.
Freaky fact: my maths result (44%) was exactly half my English! Depressing, huh?

Oh yeah. i can relate. i took the ACT (the other option to the SAT over here) in 11th grade cuz i was graduating that year... anyway, i scored 39 out of 40 in EVERYTHING except math. if i'd done as well in math, i would have had the highest score in the state, but i bombed the whole math section, where i got a 26!! (equivalent of, say, a C--) it was awful.
so now, here i am in college, and i had to retake algebra and intermediate algebra.. REALLY annoying.. not to mention a waste of time! i must say i UNDERSTAND it now, tho!
what else are you taking?

Archangel Tweetie (01/06/02...) Posted May 4, 2000
Yikes- scarily intelligent person over here!
English, maths, french, modern studies and human biology.
But, in about 2 and a half weeks it's goodbye maths, mod studs and biology!
Course it's also hello to philosophy but that's a good

***WARNING*** what follows is basically a boring discussion of school subjects... people reading this entry in a bored state of mind have
woken up to an empty skull, with only a dear john letter left by their brain....see? that was terrible! obviously mine is already packing...*
SO!? how much french have you taken? i'm starting it in summer semester... took spanish since 3rd grade (nowhere near fluent tho... dunno how that happened!) but i'm SICK of it. really not too fond of the language at all. sorta hoping french will be more to my taste... then german.. but that's in the future.
why human bio? do they make you take that, or are you allowed to choose? over here you get general bio, and a 'health' course or two.. but not usually a specifically human course... never could get too into human bio. even now that i'm pre-vet i stay away from courses that don't have an animal based subject matter!
philosophy is cool... sorta surprised that you take that so early also! here, phil. is reserved for university studies... high schools don't even offer it! at least none that i've ever heard of! pretty neat tho.. wish i'd been able to take it back then!
also, i'm vaguely curious about what MOD STUDIES is? what does that cover?
hmm. ok, 'nuff for now.. my fingers are losing interest in what my mind is saying...

Modern Studies= current affairs type thing. You know, politics, ethnic minorities over there in the US etc... Actually, I'm getting the year prize for it (second year running- woo-hoo!). So I actyally can do something...
I always hated the plant stuff in biology. So human basically covers the animalistic stuff- cells, immunity, even some psychology (my favourite )
Ummm, 5 years of French now. Plus my grandmother's Belgian so I have help. It's actually pretty good- I really enjoy it.
The philosophy higher's only just been introduced so we're the first to get it. I'm really looking forward to it, looks like being a great class
There we go- hope that covered everything

Archangel Tweetie (01/06/02...) Posted May 6, 2000
Yeah probably. Cool.
Course we have ethnic minorities over here but the situation over there is far more interesting. Apparently.

Cool. I've got to change the whole thing to HTML this weekend so I'll do that while I'm at it
Ummm, Zax, favour please. Do you or GOD do smitings? Cos there's this girl who really needs an ass-kicking with a lightning-bolt.
And I'm not far enough on with the wicca to do that yet

Grrrr- it's nemesis time.
Basically- best friend suddenly decides that she hates me. Great resentment occurs. Fast-forward 8 years and relations are still somewhat icy, especially since former best friend happens to be teacher's pet throughout the whole school
Anyway,I- desperate to become Yearbook editor- finds my hopes dashed when Yearbook teacher tells me I'm "too soft" and the former best friend would be better as she can walk over people's ideas. At which point, former best friend brings out the superiority complex she's so proud of and begins to tell me that no-one ever listens to anything I say and that most people are making fun of me behind my back. Deep dark depression ensues but I managed to drag myself out of it after an hour. Still- it would be nice if something happened to deflate her a little.
Ideas?

GOD Posted May 15, 2000
Sorry, I usually save smiting people until the very last minute...
Anyway failing that. I think you should understand that people who undermine other people are generally insecure themselves. Just as you resolve to deal with your problems by talking to others, she resorts to throwing her anger back out into the world. You could take the moral high ground, but I'm afraid it is irrelevant in the functionality of every day life...
You should try to look within to your response to her, which is something you DO have some control over. At the present time you have framed your emotional response as the 'victim' i.e 'this person has wronged me thus I feel hurt'. A better response is 'This person has wronged me, but I understand you are hurting'. If you can really feel that empathy at heart, you can try to speak to her in a calm manner and hopefully she won't feel threatened. Hopefully, she will feel sorry for hurting you. If however you get no reasonable response, you can reason both emotionally & intellectually that if this is the level this person operates on, I don't need her as a friend but I don't bear her any ill-will.
I know its hard to do, but the likes of Gandhi & Mandela have done it under even greater pressures...
BTW: Perhaps you might be falling into the trap of sourcing your self-esteem from the people around you (...a common trap at High School). If this is the case, you should look to do something YOU enjoy in your spare time, so you recognise your own self worth..
Hope this helps...

Jeez, I hate it when he's right.
I know all this and I'm trying with the self-esteem issue but my talent happens to be self-deprecation
But you try coping with someone like that for more than half your life and see how much you wanna smite her
Although, she has bigger problems than me- this I know.
Ok, ok, I'll quit whining.
*thinks*
Maybe I'll turn her into a toad.
No, bad, no black magick.
Not till she *really* deserves it anyway

Hey Tweetling! you were asking about how those special characters are made.. here is a site with a complete listing of the codes and characters:
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/special_characters/
IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
this page lists them using "&#" before the number code... for example " é "
1) IGNORE THE ";".
2) where they use "&#",interpret it this way:
&=ALt key
#=0
3) this is how you make "é"
Hold down the alt key.
press 0233 while HOLDING THE ALT KEY DOWN.
Release the alt key...
cool, huh? now print out the list, and pin it on your wall for easy reference!
(another thing from that same site you might like, since you're turning your page into html:
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/html_cheatsheet/index.html)
bookmark em, and let me know if they're helpful
