What pride events did people go to this year?

Just wondering what Pride events anyone went to this year and what did you think?
I have just come back from Manchetser Pride, the first time I had been to it, and it was a fantastic 48 hours. It went really quickly, as these things always do. I have neve felt so much pride in my sexuality as I did when walking around with the blue waistband and spotting other wearing said same waistband when outside of the Village area.
I also went to the Huddersfield Pink Picnic which was a good day despite the rain!

I went to the Trafalgar Square rally. It was very good!
I certainly didn't feel proud about my sexuality (it's not an achievement, it's just the way I am. I'm not proud or ashamed of my freckles either) but it was good to see so many people being open, and sobering to hear people in stage pointing out that if we'd been staging it in their countries we would have been nicked (as was proved a few weeks later).

Pride events are always to important in world where religion and nationalism a trying to make people ashmaed of being human. Stating the obvious again? I've not been to one, I have kinda taken them for granted and don't see myself as any great ambassador...

we should never take these events for granted for many reasons not least, as said, in other countries we are harrassed and arrested for having such events.
It's a sobering reminder that we are NOT given any form of respect and ststus in so many countries and even in this country these are the only times where we can be ourselves and this country is supposed to be modern in its thinking.
Never take these events for granted and always support them because even in the UK, as happened in the city where I lvie, you will always find opposition from all areas, including the authorities, to ensure that the event does not take place at all.

Thought I'd stimulate some debate (not too virulent, since I realise I'll be meeting some of you on Saturday

The world's most populous nation is atheist and homophobic. I lived there a few years back, and I made sure broke their stupid law. In fact they're shooting themselves in the foot. If they want to lower their population increase, they should start giving 'gay tax breaks'
