Im 26 years old and look after a wonderfully eccentric 81 year old lady, who i both admire and respect greatly. She has a fantastic sense of humour and a brilliant outlook on life.
Well yesterday we were in the chemist and whilst i was paying for some items for 'my lady' she was sat in her wheelchair and struck up a conversation with a lady who was around her age and who was pushing a zimmerframe. Well after i'd brought the items i headed back over to my lady and caught the end of the conversation. The other lady was telling my lady how she was so fed up with life that she had asked that if anything serious happen to her that she did not want to be resusitated (apologies for my spelling). Well my lady was quite taken aback by this and explained how she still loved life, the other lady was addiment she'd had enough now and didnt enjoy life anymore. Well me and my lady looked at one another (after the other lady had gone) and didnt say a word i think our faces said it all. My lady is an absolute inspiration and proved to me that no matter how old you are your only as old as the woman (or girl!) you feel and that life is for living, enjoying and embracing! Im 26 years old Mina, and let me tell you if i saw you walking down the street in your pigtails id give you the biggest smile, fair play to you!! And when i reach my ladys age, i hope im as content, and happy as she is at 81- and as eccentric!!
