Hey - many congratulations you guys! I'm speechless (for once)!

How fantastic! I've only just logged on and I find the place full of romance! Congrats to both of you.

I heard about a friend (and I use the term in the loosest sense) from my local getting engaged at the weekend - and (being a natural born cynic) I just thought "Oh well, poor fool, it'll all end in tears". But somehow with you and Doug, since I don't know you IRL, I just feel that it's really romantic and can't help but be happy for you both.

Awww! All my friends seem over the moon but then they think Doug is good for me and also they think it is right - that's why one or two of them aren't that surprised!

Its gorgeous - it has little chocolate fishies in it. And toffee and marshmallow swirl

Is it just me, or does Doug seem to be keeping fairly quiet in these congrats forums?

I just found out the date of another friend's wedding a couple of hours ago (although I knew they were already engaged). There must be something in the water...

I think I'll have to rush out to the pub now and get lagered up to prove I'm still a man behaving badly and try not to let myself get in touch with my feminine side by succombing to all this "AWW-ing". Tsk tsk. Whatever next?

Too late! I caught you admitting to being a closet romantic earlier. BTW Doug is not ignoring these forums it's just that his boss discovered he knew nothing about computers while Doug was away so the work piled up. We also tend to spend most of our free time on the phone, to friends, rellies or each other!
Whenever I have thanked people for their congrats that is from both of us!

Hi ZB, I am around and I am overwhelmed by the comments in this forum (and all the personal comments) and I thank you all very very much indeed.

Like Ginger says, I've got back to work and found my boss had been saving up loads of things for me to do - and undoing lots of things I'd done before I'd got there! Still I'm sorting things out!

I second that thought from our soon-to-be community editor, just make sure the photographer can focus this time.

I keep telling everyone we were blurry, not the photographer. A picture may be provided depending on how awful we look in them!

I think photgraphs are pretty much mandatory at this stage . Also, a h2g2 community gift is a fantastic idea.

Hi there, you crazy cats! I suppose I should have guessed from the scrolling wotsname on yer home page, but, being a mere student, I didn't. Best o' luck with your new lives an' all that sort of stuff (can you please stop twisting my arm now...thankyou...). But seriously, what ever you do, become adults but don't grow up...your kids'll kill you if you do!!! I should know, I'm only seventeen meself...just a mere baby. Read the whole Guide in a month, too. But I digress. Who says long-distance relationships don't work, eh?
