A Conversation for Superstitions

Many people also have superstitions when it comes to their sports team (usually one they like). This can involve wearing a shirt or some other line of closing that "guarantees" a victory. The person may also have some ritual they do, like not bathing, fixing Buffalo wings, or drinking ungodly amounts of alcohol (my personal choice).
The players also have their own superstitions, too. Many have a lucky clothing item or so on. For example, I remember reading an article on Wade Boggs (for you UKers, he is a baseball player for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays) before he hit his 3000th hit (a great feat in our national pasttime). In it, he told how he has a certain regiment which he follows from the time that he gets up till he runs out on the field *for each and every game he plays!*

I don't suppose you would like to put us out of our misery and tell us what this regimen is/was?

Iwas told once that it is considered bad luck to put your right shoe on first. I've been putting my left shoe on first for 12 years now.
I don't hae a problem walking under ladders or any other such things. I don't know why this one stuck.

I certainly don't know his whole pattern, but I do recall it involved eating chicken and the services of a young lady who was not his wife. When he dumped her, she sued for palimony and used his far superior batting average when on the road (with her) as evidence of the efficacy of those services.
