my neighbour went to Egypt fairly regular as he and his partner had an apartment there, our 1p was equal to a Egyptian £1, he said felt he was a millionaire with £10 (Stirling) in his pocket

School class went to Prague before the Wall came down. The teacher told his pupils "I know a guy, give me all your Danish kroner and I will change it at a favourable rate!"

When he returned with fat bundles for all one of the pupils asked him "Why have you bought us Polish sloty when we are in Tchekoslovakia?"
