Steven Gerrard is leaving Liverpool...
Should go to a proper club like Everton

Not sure he's made the right decision. Might not play so much at Madrid or Chelsea.
Not worth 32 million either.
Still things aren't going so bad for him that he has to go to Everton.

Do people really think he wouldn't play that much at chelski?
I reckon he would.
I presume they would play a flat back four, Makele in the holding role.
Gerrard would replace Gudjonsen in midfield along side Lampard, with one up top and two from Duff, Cole and Robben playing in the wing/auxilarry striker role.
For my that looks a pretty awsome team, spesh if Chelski net a top drawer striker.

Such a shame all this went away!
I was looking forward to a summer where it was another club's inspirational midfield captain going to Madrid. Drat!

I've heard claims that that's not a picture of $tevie Gerrard but his cousin Anthony who was a youth player at Everton and is now at Walsall.

now all that ch€l£$ki money will come to a place where it will do some good... like OL getting 4 players who will each perform better than essien over the next 2 years!

The bad news is that Gerard Houllier is the man who'll be spending it for Lyon, if the transfer ever happens...

I've since been corrected - that is Steve Me in the picture. Anthony was born in 1986.....

Well personally If I were Chelski I owuld let the Essien thing drop for a while. Watch him fall out with the club and management and buy him cut price at xmas.

yes, that's great. make a big fuss over a player they don't really need just to destroy a club that's been doing their best year after year to rise in the football world with sound management and no brouhaha, and would have loved nothing better than just being left alone by the likes of peter kenyon.

I'm sure they only really paid so much for Shaun Wright-Phillips because they could afford to and no-one else can.
It's like back when the three foreigners rule applied, AC Milan used to buy up all the best emerging home-grown Italian talent whether they wanted to play them or not, just so no-one else had it.
I might dislike the post-Bosman era and the English game being so short of English players, but just imagine it if the three foreigners rule still applied and Chelsea bought up all the best English players.

I am not saying it is a good thing to do Riotact, just that if I were Chelski it would be my route.
I reckon if Lyon dont accept the good money of £21 plus Tiago now, they might end up with a lot less at xmas if Chelski have played their cards right.
Key: Complain about this post
