Hi,
There was a young researchers club but there's no-one home. Does anyone know if there is another place on hootoo? My daughter is 10, and she's found a lovely new friend who is 11. My son is itching to join, and he's 7.
Thanks everyone.

Is there really nobody at the Young Researchers? Hmm...Im 17 so only just allowed in the young researchers...you could have a look around the young researchers and then message the people you find?
Im happy to talk to them but Im probably a bit old

Do they have any special interests?
It might be easier for them to join one of the clubs that has been set up for that.
There is a full list of them A630019 at or use <./>search</.> to find a topic/interest.
The chances are that kids of a similar age will be interested in similar things so will bump into each other there

There aren't many clubs for youngsters, because the BBC discourages under 16s from identifying themselves as such except on sites specifically for youngsters. Do you think your daughter would be more at home on CBBC messageboards? It would certainly make sure that she didn't read anything unsuitable for her age. DNA sites are 'family' sites, but there are a lot of 'grown-up' conversations on them.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the advise.
When my daughter logs on I am always with her. We do have to be very careful, and she knows she must not come in here without me.

That's very wise well done.
What sort of thing does she like? I imagine she's started learning French? If she wants to practice of have anyone help her with homework etc then she could go to The Language Thing...which Ive forgotten the number of but can be found in my personal space.

Thanks Kat,
She's joined the French Club at school and really enjoys it. It's a beautiful langauge but I'm quite rusty now. We'll have a look later. We're going to try and find Pokemon fans too.
Geko Lizard Fan is at U684796 if any one wants to say hello. She's got lots of thank yous to send.

I'll talk to your daughter if you like. I'm a bit older than her, but never mind. What is her user ID?
