A Conversation for The Music Website Jukebox...

My pleasure. I don't know if you've followed the link yet, but it is a pretty good Crowes site.
And I've just been adding a few MORE links to the Jukebox. 350 links here I come...

You have quite an eclectic taste! It ranges from groups I love to groups I hate... Of course, there are fewer groups I like in existance than there are groups I don't, so maybe that range isn't too hard to accomplish.

OK, time to own up to something. The Jukebox started out as a list of my personal favourites, but since then - because I found that I enjoyed building it - I've added quite a number of acts I don't personally like that much but who are popular, who have good websites and who I don't actually hate. So all my favourites are on the Jukebox provided that I could find a website for them, but not everyone who's on the Jukebox is one of my favourites, if you see what I mean. (In case you're really interested, you can safely assume that if a relatively little-known act is included, it's because I like them!)

I thought it was quite a range there...

Of course, the problem is going to come when someone leaves me a message asking for a link to a site for an act I really can't abide. (I can think of at least two absolute megastars I would have to draw the line at.) While travelling around these pages, I have seen some frightening things. There are self-confessed Steps fans on h2g2!

In that case you could always find the link, refuse to post it on your page on grounds of artistic integrity -- or whatever -- but suggest that they put the link on their own page...

I've added this page to the "Who's the favourite guitarist?" list. Wow, this rocks!
But, why no Iron Maiden?

Up the Irons!

I must admit I'd forgotten all about the Maiden, not being much of an old-skool metal fan myself - but OK, why not, in they go.
BTW, I always thought that "Up The Irons" was a West Ham United soccer chant. Just goes to show how much I know.

Oh yeah, it is indeed a football chant. Guess what team Steve Harris supports...
And then tell me what team his dad supports *^_^*.

Your lists omit one of the greatest bands of all time - The Band. Not sure of their current status, as they have had a couple of revivals followed by the death of a member, the most recent departure being that of Rick Danko who died late last year.

Thanks for that. I had actually wanted to include The Band before, but hadn't been able to find a good enough website. However, that problem is now solved as the one you recommended is excellent.
BTW, since the surviving members were in action together as recently as two years ago, I've included The Band in the main section of the Jukebox. Let's be optimistic - we may well hear from them again.

I assume that the "two years ago" refers to "Jubilation". I found the website address in the little booklet accompanying the CD.
I have found The Band strangely unsatisfying since the first split - first without Robbie Robertson, then without Richard Manuel. This recording is quite nice though. Not sure how they can keep it up now that Rick Danko has died. That just leaves Levon Helm and Garth Hudson of the original group. Long may they live!

Yes. No Yes.
I've left them out for medical reasons: I'm allergic to old-fashioned pomp rock. If I included Yes, it'd be hard to refuse requests for Rush, Styx, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Moody Blues and all the other hippy bands who made The Sex Pistols so very necessary.
However, if you want a Yes link for YOUR page (or just for your own amusement), http://nfte.org should satisfy.
