I've noticed a lot of the help pages are out of date, so I'm going to plough through and work out what should be changed. Part of this is to suggest the most useful unoffical help pages that they could link to.

I was wondering where you were linking to in your welcomes, and which ones are around?

I have noticed that sometimes the incorrect link is given for the Post Clubs page which should be A660304

The other great resource, the Classified Ads brilliantly run by Titania at A630019, give a more detail but tends to be more for advertising individual clubs and doesn't have certain sections such as the Researchers Groups and Games.

If a link to The Post is included it should go to <./>ThePost</.> with < . / > at the front and < / . > (no spaces) behind rather than to an individual A number so that they reach the most up-to-date issue.

The only pages at all I link to now are Feisors, askh2g2, the Forum, the Don't Panic tour, the Frontpage and the Post.

I don't even link to 'spicing' or smileys as Feisors does that and I am trying to cut it down to promote the EG more (as per instructed ).

However my basic welcome(s) is undergoing changes so it is a stop gap one at the moment.

Feisor - you are welcome - it is worth mentioning as it is exactly what a newbie needs and saves me from prattling on!!

I use my own help page which just has the basics, including a section on writing for the EG. I don't put many links in my greeting as I direct people to said page, although I'm going to amend my ACE greeting to include a bit more on writing for the Guide too
