um...I don't know if I should be here or not seeing as every message so far is by an ace. I have just been wandering the links looking for something general I could join in with, as nobody appears to have found my own postings. Seeing as though you are presumably the people 'in the know' perhaps you could point a few wanderers towards the chilli sauce posting in the how do I?...section, as I would really like to know how to make a good un'. Actually, here is a better idea. If you make a user page about your search for good Chilli Sauce, it is much more likely to get noticed. And then go to Peta's Picks and give her a link to your Chilli page.

I am a little confused about 'user page', do you mean create an entry in the guide?, hang on, I have looked at my home page and it says edit page is this it? I thought that would edit my hompeage (curently entitled 'about me'). O.K if I do create a page/guide entry I can't say much because I don't know how to make it. So can you create a page/guide entry with just a question?. So far replies are thin on the ground, so I don't have much to pass on to others.

Yep, by user page I meant you should create a guide entry. You are correct that clicking "edit page" will edit your homepage. If you want to make a separate page devoted to chilli sauce, just click on the "add a new guide entry" link at the bottom of your page, under the section titled "most recent guide entries." Give the page a title and type in anything you can think of about chilli sauce.

You can put as much or as little as you want on a guide entry. You can even make the page blank if you want, and then add to it as you get additional information. You have the power!

help. OK I have created a home page. but when I do a search on Basingstoke the search engine doesn't list my site. what am I doing wrong. I want my home page to be listed when people search by the work Basingstoke. help me please!

whoops!! That should have been the word Basingstoke also My nickname comes up as monkey Boy which is fine but when I search on monkeyboy I don't get my site...eh??/ I don't understand help again please?

Shall we just say that the search engine is not the best in the world, at the moment, but they are working on it. It is at the top of the to do list At least this is a posible explanation, someone else with more knowledge may want to interject now........

I guess that's probably it - with all the constant turn around and renaming and so on, it just takes a while for the engine to come up to date - I searched for your page and it came up right now - maybe you got confused, because in the search engine homepages are listed as guide entries, with an A-number, not a U-number?

Good day or night to all here at the H2G2. I am Jason, or J Murphy, a new(ish) researcher to the guide. Glad to be on board. I have to ask though, who is it in this office that you have to look out for, who is it that will be most likely to start the food fights, and who is the best person to consult on the content of my upcoming guide entries...
