I tried a revolutionary (well, sort of) method of control for UFO Wars. You move the targetting crosshair for your guns around with the mouse, while controlling the UFO's movement and gun selection with the keyboard. It actually works too.

As an honest 3rd Party who has seen and played the game, I have to say that it has Great gameplay, and is lots of fun. The best bit is the extremely colourful explosions, it's brilliant. I think it's the best game that Ian has done.

Sounds like fun then, I like the games with unique control systems.

Zack: I like all those smileys! I guess I don't really need my new smiley campaign page. I didn't know what to put on it anyway

Well we still need to convince h2g2 Towers to churn out more official useable smileys... they added the quite recently, and used a few of our smileys for Halloween & Christmas smileys, but I still think they could add a few more.

Yahoo Messenger has a large range of smileys - as well as the above, they also have :-| (not smiling, not upset) (smiling loads) and :-> (triangular smile). And we still have a lot of ideas that could have smilies/drinkies/I'm not going to repeat the whole debate here drawn for them.

Hold on, can you imagin how long it would take to load the F&F forums if there were official drinkies?

You've probably all had a copy of this, but here goes anyway:

[aceforum] Smilies & Emoticons
Hi guys
You will be pleased to know that we are currently considering new
smilies for h2g2. However we are keen to make sure that we choose the right ones and the ACEs are obviously the best people to ask!! So which new smilies would you like/do you think would be most useful to have next? We are looking for about 30 smiley ideas, and then we'll introduce as many of these as we can, but that may not be all of them...
So can you suggest or find some smilies that you would like? Remember
these should be emoticons that help give depth to a conversation - so a hungover smiley is going to be better then one that is just a pretty
picture.
Thanks for your help.
Best wishes
Abi
