If you need more ACES, I would love to be counted in. I spend way too many hours on the Internet daily, and a good deal of them are spent hanging out on H2G2. I figure, what the heck, I may as well be useful.

Not that I'm pushy or anything

Count me in, too. I'm in the forum called "Becoming an ACE" on your page, but put me on the queue. I've been greeting users over the past 2-3 weeks, and it's fun. Please consider me!

I realise you probably now have millions of people all desparate to be ACEs, but I just thought I'd ask too... I'm here quite a bit during the day, and I do like to welcome new users, but won't be offended in the least if you don't pick me

Like Joanna I do the meet and greet thing already but if you want to make it official there would me more first contact made by ACEs than me and Joanna doing the unofficial bit. Anyway there are no newbies out there now so, I'll be off for now.

I can vouch for Demon Drawer, I have come across him several times while welcoming, and he has even chased someone all the way to my page to welcome them!

Hello Peta.
I'm quite new here, but I spend most of my Internet time on h2g2, and I actually already welcome newbies.
From the new researcher's point of view, I must say that this ACE thing seems a bit strange (check Minor Deities)
Then (I suppose) I should perhaps try another vision of all this.
And because I like to talk, I suppose I could be used to "talk" the new people in.
If you find i could be of any use, please tell me.

Thanks Typolifi -
I hope that the Aces scheme doesn't come across as hierarchical, it's not my intention to create an elite. I want to get as many people as I can involved in h2g2 in different ways. The Guide can only grow if we can develop h2g2 as a collaborate project.
I'd love you to come on board and 'talk' people in. It's important that new people understand what's going on here, and what we're trying to achieve and a welcome group is one of the best ways of getting the message across.
Thanks for volunteering. I'm sending out the emails on Monday and Tuesday.

But you're right Peta. After a cautious exploration of ACE's replies on the forums I feel the mood better. It's like to be a big brother without being relly big

Greetings and solicitations.
Can superheroes be ACEs?
Would the knitted underwear and scratch and sniffology (tm)(pat pending) put off the newcomers.
Would it have been wise for me to ask earlier?
Why is everyone looking at me?
Can I be an ACE?
