Oh, witty, you lucky girl! I love that show! I got to see Ted Nealy play Jesus, but I sat in the nosebleed section, so I couldn't see too much of him...
Joanna, I'm feeling better, and chamomile tea is good, so there
Sounds like there was a party this weekend in Edinburgh. Did you have a nice time? Not too much going on out here in California, except that it's really friggin' hot.

*The hawk pecks at the doughnut. Continues to glare around the room, tapping it's tallons on the table.*

*raises an eyebrow at the hawk.*
A hawk, hmmm? Ya know, sugar is very bad for birds of prey... causes ruptured spleens, and whatnot.
*ponders about where everybody went.*

I'm still here, Cheezdanish, just enjoying playing with the preview version of Netscape 6 ...
Isn't it wierd the way some people like stuff, and some don't? My mother uses chamomile tea as a threat!

Bluebottle Posted Aug 7, 2000
How can anyone want to change the taste of tea by bunging weird-sounding stuff in it?
Why, it's just not tea then!

Cheezdanish, Slacker Princess Posted Aug 7, 2000
I guess this is because I'm American, so the tea ritual is kinda lost on me. But how is Chamomile tea bunging up the tea? It's got kind of a minty, flowery, grassy flavor which I find very relaxing. Kinda like wheatgrass shots.

Bluebottle Posted Aug 7, 2000
I don't know - I'm just fussy about my tea. I want it to be TEA, not something completely different.
And I want my chocolate to be called Marathon, not "Snickers".

J'au-æmne Posted Aug 7, 2000
Some fruit teas are nice... BB, its not putting stuff in tea, its a whole different drink just made in the same way as tea is made, so its not 'I want my tea to be tea' really, as I want tea not coffee kind of thing...
I can't think of any chocolate solution, though...

See, I want the coffee, not the tea.
We wacky Americans...

*enters through back door*
Anybody here?
Ook: Ook!
Just you up there in the rafters, eh? Come on down and have your usual.
*orders Ook's special while cleaning counter and reviewing tapes*
Oh wow, Freedom and Bumblebee are back, and Superdreamer and BluesSlider were here too, as well as cheezdanish & joanna & BB. Dang. Missed em all.
btw, unless anybody is really hankering for a fttf race, I thought I'd change threads round about post 300. Don't know why, it just seems like a good time to switch.
*puts NZ bottled water on for green tea* Wonder how BB feels about green tea.

*wanders in not even bothering to read the backlog, yet!*
IIEM large coffee please.
OOK:Oook?
Yes it is actually me! But for how long, who can tell
Sorry I haven't been around much lately.
*sits down with coffee and attempts to catch up on some of the stuff he has missed recently*

Babel! Nice to see you and not one of your calling cards! How have you been?
*makes green tea*
I was working most of the day and missed everybody. Well, I was on for just a bit this morning, but the net is terrible over here, what with the strike.
Aroma Cafe: M Included This Time :-)
Babel17 Posted Aug 8, 2000
Hi Lil, haven't read backlog or seen any news for about a week. What strike?
Aroma Cafe: M Included This Time :-)
Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Aug 8, 2000
IIEM green tea please.
Sips green tea while awaiting the answer to Babel's question

Over here, two big phone companies just merged under the name Verizon and the workers have gone on strike. They based in the DC-Virginia-Maryland area, which is basically yer government data food tube. So the rest of us are getting bumped off the lines or suffering slowness as bad as the old days.
So what's happening with you? *sips tea*

Loony! You sneaked in while I was dawdling over composing the last post. Don't drink the instant -- I just made fresh green tea with NZ water.

Babel17 Posted Aug 8, 2000
Hi Looney. Well Lil, atm, I am biding my time until the IBM outsourcing is complete (1st sept), and then I think a new job is the order of the day as I am not keen on the ideas that are floating around here just now. Plus I am fed up with shifts and wouldn't mind getting a life back. My online life has suffered dreadfully recently, so as you can see i am hardly online 2 weeks out of 4.
Apart from that the h2g2 researchers meet up here in Edinburgh, Scotland at the weekend was a blast. We even managed to get a friend to catch us on a webcam, and it's in this weeks post. (though when I looked at the article, the picture wasn't there, so i can hide for a bit longer )

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Aug 8, 2000
Ho! There must be pictures floating about h2g2. Wasn't DD planning to go up there?

*Quiet falls over the Cafe. A scruffy figure enters. The face is vaguely familiar, but unshaven and unkempt. He removes a dreadfully dirty and torn anorak. Instead of hanging it up, he decides to throw it outside*
Ah. It's good to be home (with an M). A cup of Orange pekoe - a little milk, no sugar, please IIEM.
*Spreads a newspaper onto a comfy chair, and sits down*
It's tough out there!

*walks in gingerly carrying what appears to be an anorak between two fingers*I just tripped over this outside - does it belong to anyone?
IIEM - I notice green tea was recently brewed - just fill this up *proffers empty Japanese-style tea cup*
