Redbeard are you working from home? I did my job from home (using QuarkXpress) and emailed the finished pages to the printers. They then placed them on the imposition and printed them out as negatives (4 pages per neg) which were then made into aluminium plates for the printing press. As Lil mentioned isn't technology wonderful. 10 years ago I was doing the same work using "hot metal" (lead).
Tabatha I will post something about hangis at the NZ link.

Wurgh. Impacted head. Let me spare you details. I live for 90 minutes hence, when I can take two more blue pills and attempt to sleep. Am considering mixing the blue pills with a shot of Nyquil. Anything to break the logjam in my sinuses. I am astounded at the speed with which this virus took hold.
On the bright side, it doesn't matter much how loud the frogs choose to be tonight. I hope to be unconscious.
Sorry to bring in a dismal note -- amazing how self-absorbed a whacking cold can make you. Have y'all heard the story about the Filipino hijacker and his home-made parachute?

Yes, Løøny... I'm working from home. I've got a good G3, Quark, Photoshop 5.5, slide scanner and flatbed scanner at home, and at work the office is crammed with all the Festival staff, so I just told them to call me if anything comes up and I'll be doing it all here. Technology is amazing! I'll be doing a similar arrangement only taking it to the printers on zip disks or CD for direct-to-plate output. 12 years ago, layout for us involved large cardboard sheets with a blue grid, rubber cement or hot wax, and chunks of typeset text.

*wonders how long it's been since she had rubber cement in the house, at least 3 bottles hardening at various rates of speed*

That's the amazing thing about rubber cement. You always have several bottles around, but still have to buy a new one to start a project.

Those were the days, and I don't miss them. I have an indecisive copy editor for one newsletter I do, who might fax with me several times with various wordings on an article. In the manual days I would have gone postal. Actually, in the manual days, that kind of behaviour wasn't possible. Because you could forestall them by pointing at the real cost of mind-changing.

Yeah, now you just get people who assume that you can do anything! Just got ad copy from one of our advertisers... a bad xerox of an old ad from somewhere else that had a picture of the inside of the restaurant with their logo plastered on it, with the note: "use this, but show more of the photo and move the logo up higher" and nothing else included.

LOL! They want you to enlarge the photo to show more than it currently does??
My head swelleth: I've just had some compliments for my restoration of the Isle of Wight watercolour.

Yes, they want me to show more of the photo! Where is that 'interpolate missing portion of image' filter in Photoshop? I've got to call them and let them know that I'll actually need the photo in order to do that!
Congrats on the compliments
I'm going to take off for a bit. Good luck getting to sleep tonight!
Bye, Ook.. Sorry I didn't get around to playing with you today. Maybe I'll stop back later tonight.

I guess this will be a good time to put up the sign. Just one more hour and I can re-medicate and collapse...
The cafe is now on autopilot.
Please place your orders with the IIEM and stand well back.
Ook, you have everything you need?
Tiddlywinks?
You're right, I forgot, I'm sorry.
Tomorrow.

Ook have you ever been to New Zealand? I'm sure you would like the native forests, the really strong anti-gun laws, the distance from Australia.
"An excellent hangi receipe can now be found at the NZ link," he modestly types.
Time for a Heinekin. Ook come on be fair - it's my last one - don't tip it out. Ook you are a naughty naughty monkey. Well off to the club I suppose.
