A Conversation for The Café

To whomever is in charge of this, the sweetly aromad cafe, I am interested in playing with the jazz band that was mentioned at the front page. I am a very devout jazz and blues percussionist, and I also have a great deal of experience playing the bongos with my beatnik poetic duo called, "Dissipated Aristocracy."
It also appears that a few researchers are a bit glazed, so to speak.
So I was just curious as to why they are in this condition, and maybe where I can join in on the fun too.
Please excuse my lack of knowledge of this cafe. I tend to hang out more at the bar. Speaking of which, feel free to stop by at the bar any time and say hello. I'll be the one sitting at the head of the Maverick Table with side-burns, wearing a bowler hat, incredibly intoxicated, and quoting Umberto Eco's, "Foucault's Pendulum," at the top of my lungs

The proprietor is away. Have been for a looong time. I have started to doubt that we'll ever see Irving Washington ever again
But, on the other hand, that means we can do pretty much what we like. Within reason of course, whatever that means in a place like this....
*draws a big breath.*
So, I've brouhgt this old saxophone that I found on a bootsale, last week. I think I know how it works...

*cough*
erm... I'm kind of a singer, if you need one?
*does a striking rendition of "Summer moved on" by A-ha*
(not a particularly good song that, but at least it shows whereabouts my voice is...)

Maybe it'll be easier if you remove this...

I was just wondering if any horns were going to join. And even though you keep a wonderful collection of tube socks in your sax, there's no reason to leave you out of this slowly developing ensemble.
As for One-eye singing...
Well, sing for me 'Summertime,' from Porgy and Bess. I know that you're a tenor and the part is mainly done by sopranos, but what the hell, I'm in that kind of evil mood
*grins, and takes a sip from his *

We also need a name for this thing. The Sweetly Perfumed Jazz Band is...nice, but lacks the creative brilliance this band will represent.

And, I think it would be best if we continued this conversation at the posting on the Musician's Guild page, so that the rest of the musicians I've gathered so far, can all hear whatever ideas come to us.

Need another vocalist? Smooth and cool to slick scat and pure improvisation? Mind if I stand in the shadows or under a blue light?

The more the merrier.
And we'll work out a way to create the effect of only having your sillhouette when you sing.
