I wonder why only the usual, trusted few respond to poetry threads or thinking threads. Are they overawed by the standard of Paul or Pedantic? There's no need. There's no need to be overawed by anyone. Nobody's watching. Again - nobody's watching, you know.

I'll have a look again. I haven't a clue about Vogon poetry, which is why I unsubbed from your latest poetry thread.

It's just a word for bad poetry, as in the Book, Bel.

But you just quote other people's poems there, and I don't really know any English poems.

I read,
I think,
I ponder.
I look,
I feel,
I wander.

It's not hard to write a poem.
He will find it's not above him.
Just pretend that he's in Nome,
And that to Nome is to love him.

B'el, they're all made up - honest - if you have the right thread. The names of my poets are made up by me and are quite funny in English - I hope smiley - erm

Just try some bad poetry - that's all it takes. Or take a real poem and make it bad - by destroying all the rhymes --and so on . Do one in German (but give us a translation!). That would be interesting.

Jabsmiley - ok

Lil, that was slightly on the good side, but you can put that in the BAD POETRY thread if you like - nobody's looking over our shoulders. No teachers or critics or parents,or husbands,or, or,

Odd, if you type « bad german potry » into Google you only get two results :

Goethe's Schweizerlied ("Uf'm Bergli bin i g'sässe"), song for voice & piano by Schubert @ D. 559 - (1817)
and the other about some lass Katya spraying slogans in bad German poetry on the walls of the People’s Palace – (2006)

So – it’s entirely up to you Bel !!

However, if you type « bad english poetry », you get rather more BUT the really telling thing is theat the very first result is the link to “ - Arts in America –“

Bad poetry will not get the respect it deserves until it gets a museum of its own. The Museum of Bad Art could be worth emulating. smiley - smiley

Ellen

It hurts my head,
To think of rhymes,
That's why I don't do it,
Many times.

Even bad poetry,
Takes some rhyming skill,
One or two verses,
And I've had my fill.
