Another year, another kajillion dollars....

So, Year Two dawns....needless to say, I only have one textbook so far, and that's a copy of The Poetics that only cost $1.50. All the others were bought online, second-hand.

Can't say that I'm looking forward to the "Individual Excercise" class that I'm required to take. I mean, would it be so hard to have Martial Arts, Fencing or Mountain Climbing as PE credit options? Those are the types of sport that I'm *good* at. And I'm pretty sure that I won't be playing Calvin Ball (oh, what a glorious PE class that would be).

That, plus I need to get another class. I mean, I really, really need one. I only have just enough to legally qualify as a full-time student, and there's no way that'll keep me on track for both majors (Creative Writing and Computer Sciences).

Still, it won't be all bad. I've got two English classes, one in generic literature (gotta admit that I love that, even if we'll primarily be reading things that I've read before, like The Canterbury Tales), and one in Writing For Stage And Screen (finally, I'll know the exact procedures for hammering out movie/play scripts). That, plus I did a solo audition for Jazz Band, and I feel like I did really well. I NEVER feel like I do well at non-vocal music auditions, so I'm either going to be in this band, or taken completely by surprise. Should be neat to see how it all works out after the Group/Ensemble auditions with the rest of the Jazz Band Member Hopefulles on Thursday.

Anyway, wish me luck, keep me in your prayers, and hope that I survive the first week or two or three without books.

With all the band experience you have had, you should be a shoe-in. Especially the marching band experience - if you can play and march at the same time, just plain playing should be a breeze. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, though. smiley - biggrin

What's the problem with picking up another course - financial or selection?

Selection.
I'd *Like* to take a math class in statystical analysis, but it conflicts with the PE credit that I'm taking. I'm thinking a Theology class might be in order.

Anyway, my first Individual Excercise "class" went well, and I like what I heard. I can pretty much just show up at the gym whenever I want, and do whatever type of excercise I want (including swimming and raquetball). I only have to show up for the "class" at pre-scheduled "lecture days" to make sure that I'm actually reading the textbook.

Anyway, I've gotta run for my CS class without a textbook. That should be interesting, as I'll be having the same teacher from last year's "Research In Mathematics" class. I recall him as being a very quiet speaker, so I should probably head towards the front row.

Later!smiley - smiley
