h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

"You're that hippie from Britian" -- A friend of my friend Greg, who I met my senior year... sheeshhh... seven years ago.

"Are you old enough to vote?" -- Bush supporter last night.

"Thanks for your vote!"-- see above (after I said his Bush-endorsing apparel was cool).

"I have grandkids older than you!" -- co-worker who thought her grandkids were two or three years younger than me (one's actually a year older than me).

"So it's your first year [in college]." -- customer at the check-out yesterday.

"Don't ever share him..." For some reason like... "Threesomes and foursomes are trouble." -- boyfriend I had in 2000; statement from... a few days ago...

So I'm a possibly 17-20 year old hippie from Britain who could be persuaded to be intimate with more than one person at a time (maybe I have been according to some!??)... HEH.

(Actually, I'm a 24 year old gansta-hippie from Colorado who ain't going to share...!!! )

I thought hippies were passe. They died out when the Baby-Boomers sold out to the establishment,

Nah.... there's lots of hippies. I guess you're too far east to see any!??

Considering the huge concentration in Arcata and the rest of Humboldt county, probably.

... I think my volume is partially determined by who I am around, too....

That would speak volumes about you, Dragonfly.

We may have some people who would qualify as hippies, D, but I didn't think the term "hippie" was being used much any more.

We have street people. We have homeless people. We have panhandlers.

...tree huggers!!!??? Do you have tree huggers too!??

... And people who march to a different drummer?

(the one in their head, that no one else can hear)


I remember some online quiz that I took a while back that claimed I was a hippie.

And there have been other people who have told me that I'm an earth momma or hippie sort. Must be my preference for peasant style clothes, naturally natural hair, bumming around on the beach, etc.
