The SATs are stupidly EVIL!!!

Well, so... for the record... my NZ trip might see my friend Teresa arriving late to pick me up at the airport(not unlikely, because it will be 6 am there!!!). I will want to stay longer than I initially thought(also very possible... my not wanting to stay too long is that Ian will be in Denver not much longer after my return...). And finally, there will be several choices to make(duh), and if I drive, I must be careful and defensive or an accident could occur(duh again).

It's interesting though that, knowing Teresa's a night person, and knowing the time my flight should arrive, I first thought she'd be late and I prepared for that. Of course she tells me she won't be late... so I don't think about it... until I read the cards this morning!!!

La la la!!!

The Avs lost... it was very sad. We have one more chance to beat the Red Wings and go on to play the Hurricanes for the Cup. YAY!!!

And yes, I did send you my picture, UH. You were supposed to forget.

There are some people who think that the SAT measures intelligence...I'm sure they're wrong...if for no other reason other than what one of my peers said in this year's yearbook: "...there is so much emphasis placed on how the test operates."

I am sure there are plenty of people who are mentally impressive on the SATs, but not emotionally or psychologically ready for college...!!!!

Re: New Zealand.... yes, elwood, I am lucky enough to get to travel to New Zealand. I have had a pen pal/best friend down there for seven years, and we will FINALLY get to meet in about one month!!! I'm all shakey and nervous thinking about it!!!

Having friends all over the globe is SOOOOO handy. She's got connections and know-how, baby!!!

I never had any pen pals, so I guess you all have to stand in for them.

My wife had a pen pal from childhood who stood-up in our wedding and she in hers. I found that amazing as well.

Pen Pals are special. Teresa's the only one whose been in non-stop touch with me since I was 15, though... I have about two others from around two dozen pen pals who I know are still living and breathing!!! Sad, actually...

My wife began in 5th grade as a class assignment. They started pen pals with people all over the world. She chose as one of her people to write to a girl from the small town that her family vacationed at each year. So she knew that they would see each other for a week every year, and still do. We will be going on the family fishing trip in July.

YAY!!! How lucky!!! I used to be a real mail fanatic.... I once went to another Colorado town with the family for a reunion and I'd make friends with someone at the playground and in an hour I'd be asking if she would like to write to someone... hahahhaaa...

That's so dangerous!!!
