Itinerary.
I very rarely plan anything more than a couple of weeks in advance. As this thing is something like nearly a year in the making is just mind boggling. Maybe amusing is the wrong word, how about instead?
It's now less than seven days to go until my weekend of being Sleepless in Seattle. I would've thought "Jetlagged in Seattle" would be closer to the mark, but it just doesn't sound right. I'm also not going to get much time to do the tourist thing since the reason I'm going is to attend PAX 2006... THE games expo for the people who count, the gamers themselves.
If I'm feeling up to it (read "If I'm not totally engrossed in three solid days of Bawls-fuelled video gaming, tabletop gaming, keynote speeches, tournaments, concerts, etc") I may write up something about the trip.
Last day at work tomorrow for a fortnight. Guess I'd better start packing this weekend.

Yeah. If there were a that would do.
Anyway, I live near enough to Seattle, that if you need a guide, or anything, I can be there in an hour.
I'd offer my apartment as a place to stay, to save money, but I'm expecting another guest soon, and she's higher up on the list than you are. You understand.
This thing happens in Bellevue, which I don't know all that well, but I'm sure there's lots of internet cafes you could update from.
It is Seattle, after all. We have coffee bars the way other towns have roaches.
Either way, hope you have a good time.

Leaving Manchester Airport at about 11am next Thursday, change at Chicago O'Hare and fly on to Seattle. I get in there around 5.30pm local time, so about 1.30am BST.
Staying in a hotel in Bellevue not far fom the Meydenbauer Conference Center, where the expo itself is being held Friday though Sunday.
I fly back Monday around 11am local time (7pm here I think), another change at Chicago O'Hare and arrive back in Manchester a gibbering wreck at about 8am.
I am so glad I booked some additional leave for both ends of the trip. I'm going to need it.

Hey, hey, hey, whoa, you're going to Seattle? Really?
Jeez, so am I. *Points at nametag* Pretty soon, too. Finally.
Funny, that.

If only I was going to be there a little longer, sounded like a mini meet could've been on the cards.

I'm sure something can be worked out; it's not like flight cancellations are unprecidented...
...I probably shouldn't joke about that.
NSA, please don't tap my phone.

Unless I've started counting like how Faith says the alphabet, looks to me like you'll be in Seattle at the same time...

Well, yeah, pretty much...
I don't know. Croz, you're gonna be hanging around Seattle for touristy stuff at all, or just stay at the con? Because I don't really think we'll be going to Bellevue.

I'm just going to be there for the con, if I had thought ahead I'd have booked a few extra days to do the tourist thing. There's always next time though

Well, depending on how much stuff you're bringing with you, it'd be a whole lot cheaper catching a bus to downtown, and then one to the airport, as opposed to taking a taxi.
If you want to save yourself about $40, we could meet you somewhere, and get you where you need to be.

Thanks for the offer, but I'd feel really cheeky and awful imposing on you like that.

Croz! How can you turn down a mini meet opportunity like that?!
Now take that back, and buy those friendly people a beer at the end of that ride!!!!
...really...*shakes head*
