I swear this is the last time I get involved with running an election. More hassle than it's worth.
Got a couple of funny stories. Well I think they're funny, or possibly just odd. First one involves walking from the car park to work.
To get to work I have to walk past Salford Civic Centre. Now I've done this every day for well over 15 months now, but onyl today have I paid attention to the illuminated coat of arms on the front of the building. I can only think it's illuminated because the nights are getting longer and they're trying to make themselves look important again. But I digress.
So there's the coat of arms. The usual shield affair but with a difference. On the coat of arms is a ship, probably to represent the waterways such as the Manchester Ship Canal running into Salford Quays and the Bridgewater Canal. Surrounding the bottom end of the shield are a number of bees, probably to represent the hive of industry Salford once was. What confused me was the thing in the middle of the coat of arms, which looks like a paper clip. Are they trying to say that they're a bunch of raving bureaucrats?!?
Next story involves a purchase I made a couple of weeks ago. Some of you may remember I imported a ceramic white limited edition PSP from Japan. Well the other week for a laugh I decided to have a go at registering it on the European Yourpsp.com website. Yesterday a copy of Spiderman2 on UMD Video disc arrived on my doormat So much for them checking that the serial numbers were correct like they claim on the said website. They didn't even list the model number for the model I registered! Sony Europe = bunch of s

You did a sterling job
I've never noticed a paper clip on the coat of arms, I'll have a look on Monday afternoon. It'll give me something to do whilst I'm waiting for the lights at the bottom of Station Road

Probably the wrong time to look at it. Maybe in a couple of weeks when they've got it lit 24/7 you'll get a proper look at it.
Just had a look at our "glorious council"'s webs(h)ite, and apparently it's a cotton shuttle rather than a paperclip. Still looks like a paperclip to me.

Yes hear hear (or is it here here?) You did a wonderful job, and having just read through the count and result thread, you presented it professionally and entertainingly as well.
