Abi,
I thought you might like to have your attention drawn to the recent practice of bagging cool numbers. For myself at least, the story begins in Amy Pawloski's fan club (F72158?thread=142558&post=1747779#p1747779) where vogonpoet (U174321) saluted Researcher U189981 in his name. Several of us now know who the identity scrounger is, but I won't say, coz that would be telling (it is a familiar character, however). I will say that in spite of wild accusations it is neither myself nor The Theory (U186705).
Cool Number (U190000) then jumped on the bandwaggon, as did Feckitywop Arsox (U190091). Happy Little Elf (U186705) tried and failed to join in, registering U190313 in the hope of getting U200000 - clearly not everyone knows about the New Researchers' page. Coincidentally, the ultra-palindromic time and date 20:02 20/02 2002 hit in the middle of all this lot.
Unfortunately it is impossible to register as Researcher -1, though you can visit the potential page U999999999999999999999999999999999 - Thanks to ~jwf~ (U162344) for that. Next up will be U191191.
I hope this is the sort of thing you like to include.
Ciao for now,
Richard

Wow - what a naughty bunch of Researchers you are! Are you trying to inflate our Researcher numbers!
I would include it, but unfortunately it needs an h2g2 page I can link to. It might fit in well in my Post column though.

As the site grows and becomes universally renowned as a fountain of much knowledge, happyness, and mayhem, priveledged "baggies" such as yourself ijrtgtnn might consider the fact that in the future you might be able to sell your account to the highest bidder to members of the real world who not only want to join our glorious community, but want to do so in style...

*ponders bagging U190670, but nobody would ever know that it's registered researcher #95000*

Too slow Ottox. And you've warned the rest of us about U195670 being our lucky 100,000th researcher. I wonder if there's a prize.

It has to be said that 191190 and 191191 were registered in unusually quick sucession.
