Really? Can you describe it????
I have been wearing my baseball cap with "Star Wars: Phantom Menace" on recently as it keeps the sun out of my eyes and I can't wear shades because of my glasses.

It is a plain unbleached linen sunhat with an unbleached cotton lining. Standard sunhat shape
Size 6 and 3/4 (slightly big on me)

That's the main reason I started wearing hats. I have pretty strong glasses too, so weak sunshine still makes me squint and get headaches. I now have these cool magnetic "clip" on sunglasses for my prescription glasses, but I still like to wear hats as
1 I love hats
2 wearing sunglasses isn't generally on in rain or winter, although the sun can be strong enough to hurt my eyes
3 I love hats
4 I have so many nice hats it would be a shame not to wear them
5 many of my hats are winter hats
6 I love hats

I've yet to get clip-on shades, and it seems that most of my friends have got those transitional lenses which go dark when it is light, but as yet I can't afford them. The idea of contacts doesn't appeal to me, so it's hello hat!
And why not? I too like hats, although my fezes aren't of much use to keep the sun out. A pith helmet would, though, as well as having the back peice designed to stop the back of your nexk being sun-burnt - a great example of a well thought out hat.

indeed - but what else would you expect?
I don't like the transitional ones - they are not really good if you work in a well lit office in front of a computer. I like my nifty magnetic clip ons.

I've never had the chance to try any transitional lenses - I'm just free NHS. I'll have to try clip ons, though I'd probably go for the cheap ones first.

The trouble with getting cheap ones is you'll be put off clipons by the fuss and breakage.. good ones are worth it... mine have magnets on the glasses and sunglasses so there are no hinges or clips to break. They're really good fun and a lot of people stop and look again when I just place the sunglasses in front of the glasses and they stay.

Well, when I am able to afford them, I'll definately go for them. At the moment I'm forced to stick with what I have, and wear my hat. I like wearing my hat, so it's not bad, really.

Sadly. But if either of us gets a new hat, I'm sure we'll resurrect it.
No point in forcing a conversation if it's not working.
We could always start a more general conversation between us thread elsewhere if you like talking to me as much as I like listening to you.

and we can talk about hats more if you'd like here - I've sadly got nothing more to say at this time.
