You are so right! They are adorable in their own, perhaps unconventional way ! I love bats too and hate to hear them spoken badly of. One of my personal crusades is to changes the minds of people who think bats are creepy, disgusting useless creatures. I don't always triumph but I know I have the truth on my side. By the way, love your moniker. Have you every heard of the Monty Python song/sketch "Eric the Half A Bee"? Cleese's character mentions he has a pet fruitbat named Eric in addition to the half a bee. Funny stuff!

Nice to hear someone agrees. The entry has not created a huge wave of response...Maybe it should have pictures?
Trivia to amaze (=bore) your friends: Not all bats are dark coloured, there are in fact white bats, one such being Emballonuria,
a South-American tent-making bat (chews banana etc. leaves from middle, making the sides droop like tent).
Emballonuriai then roost in their tents in small groups, being INCREDIBLY cute! They have little pink noses and are otherwise white and fluffy. I can't provide a picture but I suggest checking it out from library, making copies of any pictures found and sending them around as greeting cards. Alternatively, make a calendar - there are so many cute-cat, -dog & -horse, never mind -man and -woman calendars around, why not bats? Come to think of it, many people keep lizards & snakes as pets, but have you ever seen a snake calendar?
Keep spreading the word! Bats are cute!
