Dancing Ermine Posted Mar 22, 2001
This can act as a remind4er to people who knew me a while ago as well as an update as to why I know some of the other researchers
I used H2G2 a lot last year, particularly the pub (I was around at the inception of the c |_| threads for example), but due to vagaries of my university course, I have had to go on placement in some backwoods town without convenient internet access. This is my first week back as a researcher.
A reason to celebrate and another I think

Dancing Ermine! Hello! I had just listed you in the Natural History Museum when you disappeared. Pop along to http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A416819 and tell me if you would like to remain included.

OK, so I admit that in the past I have been perhaps a little too aggressive, for this laid back establishemnt. And I do apologise, unreservedly. Unfortunately, I have a hot temper. Please forgive me. Tonight, I would love the support and friendship of my h2g2 friends, so please give me a break.
IRL, I have had to just put up with possibly the most obnoxious pub crowd in the whole of Kent (I would have said the world, but even I suspect that might be a touch of an exaggeration). Anyway, my real life local was taken over by hoards of impossibly young people. So I feel old, boring, out-of-touch etc, but worst of all I feel as if courtesy and politeness were antiquarian pastimes. When was it that men (or boys) decided it was perfectly acceptable to hang about in ladies toilets?
Please forgive me for my past virtual strops - because I have witnessed the real life version tonight, and my local has never been such a hell-hole of aggression and intolerance EVER.
A large please. And sympathy for the hideous feeling of getting old. Dear god, I am only 30, but I felt like 60 tonight
Am I the only one?
Please it would make me feel so much better to hear others stories of how difficult it is to grow old without growing old

Hi, all! , please.
Frizzychick, I'm sorry you've had a bad time - but you still seem young to me. I'm 41! I've still got all my hair and most of my teeth, but just the other night I was walking home from my college evening class when some young female stranger greeted me with the words "Hi Dad"!
Key: Complain about this post
