*in Menza's absence, nips behind bar and returns with a c|____| of Braithwaites sledgehammer bitter*
There you go, my Lord, and a very happy birthday to you!

Demon Drawer Posted Jul 12, 2000
Oh. I see EV has seen the clash of dates. I'm sad as well I was hoping to meet old freinds as well as meeting new Scottish ones.

*decides to try greeting that avoids the morn vs eve time problem*
'Ning everyone. Sorry about the tent. Any chance of a ?
What's new?
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 12, 2000
Thank you DD.
*glug*
Nothing quite matches the effect of the first one of the day .. except possibly another one.
*notices newcomer and drinks tray*
Oh - hello LHWoG - many happy returns - and welcome
*toasts the Wonbatian anniversary with a glass from the tray*
Haven't seen you in here before, but I'm fairly new to the place myself.
You reccomend the Braithwaites?
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 13, 2000
Yes it's out back home in the Outback now. I'm very sorry - I won't do it again.
*unclear whether this refers to the lizard or the terrible joke*
Good to see you again. Need a drink? What flavour?

Fashion Cat Posted Jul 13, 2000
actually I've not had a white russian in a while... if you have any kahlua back there, I'll have one of them please....
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 13, 2000
Absolutely - no problem.
*enters bar area, grabs largest shaker, puts in crushed ice, adds equal amounts of milk, black coffee, vodka and brandy. Scatches head, pauses, shrugs, adds kahlua. Agitates shaker violently. Spills some (but fortunately there was plenty) pours the remainder (approx. 375 ml) into glass*
There - you'll feel better after that - if you can feel anything after that. How's things?
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 13, 2000
hmm... tastes.....
actually thats better than the one i got charged 6 quid for in London!
things are fine.... I've recovered from that lizard shock
look..... the tent didn't even get put up properl...
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 13, 2000
That's because I put the tent pegs back in with the skewers.
*hopes nobody has ordered kebabs yet - skewers weren't washed*
I tied the ropes to some chairs, but they've got moved around.
Well, I've heard of loitering with intent, but here's a tent loitering within a bar.
*while the patrons are looking at the sad tent, K tries to wash the skewers without being noticed*
Shall we roll it up, or tidy it up and make a feature of it?
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 13, 2000
hmm.... we allowed to make a feature of it? wouldnt people shout a lot? though it does go with the pub really well......
might be best if we just rolled it up.....
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 13, 2000
You're right - though it seemed like a good idea at the time.
You roll it up while I refresh the drinks, and we'll figure something out.
*tops up drinks without accurate quantity measurements*
I don't suppose there's a nearby campsite?
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 13, 2000
during the festival i crashed with DD in a tent.... though whether the capsites still around.... back in a mo once i've checked
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 13, 2000
hmm... campsite still seems to have held off the mud! http://www.h2g2.com/A370487
shall we go off and pitch?
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 13, 2000
OK - I'll try (almost) anything once.
You get the tent. I've brought my own pegs, mallet and hamper.
I'll meet you at that address; if it fails & I don't see you for any reason, I'll probably crawl back to the bar.
*finishes drink. Exeunt*

OK chaps, I was getting click fatigue so if you'd care to bring your glasses over to: http://www.h2g2.com/F24306?thread=64554&post=475122 I've taken the liberty of opening a new round.

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Jul 13, 2000
Hi Jamie
I believe that such changes are in the offing. Read The Post for more details. In the meantime, type &latest=1 at the end of the URL to get to the sharp end of a thread (if that's possible, anyway you get my drift).
BTW, we moved to a new bar (No.35) earlier on today.
Amy
