Night EV. Darn and I've just got here.
*grabs the whiskey bottle*
It's been a bad day.

Kes Posted Jul 11, 2000
Looks like it's time for the night shift!
*goes behind bar and searches through the old shoe pile*
Right! This one's mine, and I'm not going to lose it again.
*puts shoe on vacant left foot, confirming it is the right shoe*
And I'll take a couple more to feed Bumblebee's handbag - nearly had my arm off last time. Time for a drink - first today. Can I get you one while I'm at the pumps?
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 12, 2000
Right. That's a for you, Fashion Cat, a large whisky for DD and a for me. What brings you to the bar at this time of day\night?
*puts drinks on bar, dribbles some into the spare shoes (reserved for BB's handbag), wipes shoes, hides them under bar*

ta Kes!
nah, its half 3 am and I just cant sleep... Zax'll no doubt be on in a bit telling me to get some shut eye!

Kes Posted Jul 12, 2000
AH! Between 3 and 4 a.m. I call it "top dead centre" time (the position at which a motor comes to rest). Everything should be quiet, but the brain hasn't read the instructions. I prescribe another drink.
*pours same, large. Thinks. Pours self another *
See if that helps. What's the brain trying to digest at the moment?

nothing at all actually, i'm on hols, but cant go out drinking as have to drive home myself (and i'm not quite stuipid/desperate enough to drink and drive) and am not going to see bf for 2 months ah. life is silly
*drains whisky*
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 12, 2000
Yes, but if it wasn't silly, it wouldn't be so much fun. How about pitching a tent within walking distance of a bar? Failing that ...
*dispenses another *

*In the ensuing silent pause, Kes thinks of a solution for insomnia - he will recite his entire life story - this always works. (It was also translated, and made runner-up in the Vogon millenial varse competition). Fortunately Kes changes his mind and offers a packet of nuts instead. After several beers, the difference between the two offerings becomes less and less apparent*

(Shadowy figure with a hint of freshly dug earth moves out from behind the grandfather clock)
What's the hurry?
World about to end is it?
We have always been here, even if we don't say much, time being what it is there doesn't seem any point in rushing things.
... and that'll be six of your earth pounds thank you very much.
(I don't actually work here by the way, I just collect money off strangers.)

Methinks I detect the ever green oak. Ilex! (Hi, Lex!)
*hands over an unwell cephalopod*
Here's that sick squid (6 quid) you wanted. Would you like a jug of water for your roots?

"grabs mallet (used to tap beer kegs) and tent pegs (aka skewers from the food counter)*
The sands of Persepolis might be too dangerous (and dotted with dead horses) at the moment. Let's select any one of:
a) somewhere close to the F and F
b) not sure - where do you suggest?
c) have a drink while we decide
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 12, 2000
I normally stick inside the F and F..... another whisky whilst thinking would be great : )
and are those horses dead over there???? ugh!
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 12, 2000
Good plan! Drinks coming up.
*Tries to walk round bar, but path is blocked by a grandfather clock. Carefully moves clock to safe place against wall, restarts pendulum, sticks dishcloth over chimes (to avoid waking the customers), goes behind bar.*
There: a large for you and another for me. One thing I miss is being within walking range of a good bar.
*Starts thinking of horses for some reason*
Well, they may be OK. It depends whether the scriptwriters opt for explosive or anaesthetic in the missiles ...
*sits down on stool, having forgotten about the mallet and skewers in pocket*
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 12, 2000
hehe.... come on *grabs Kes* into the wide unknown to pitch this tent!
*picks up glasses on the way!*
c|_| 34
Kes Posted Jul 12, 2000
Alright, alright, I'm on my way.
*Wonders where they are going, and hopes for some information/advice/directions, but will enjoy the journey anyway*
c|_| 34
Fashion Cat Posted Jul 12, 2000
oh! we're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz!
