GuideML problems!
Cybernard Started conversation Mar 3, 2000
Hello.
I make a test page. I edit it.
I write "Am I proficient in GuideML?" in the title line.
Then, in the content window:
Just what am I doing wrong???
I select GuideML, press Update... and it's shown as plain text!
What's wrong?

Hoya - looking at your homepage it looks like you solved the problem yourself - but just in case...
When you select GuideML as the page type you must hit the 'Change Page Type' button before you hit the 'Update Page' button - then the page type will be set correctly.

GuideML tags in HTML

Hi
GuideML tags are a shorthand way of generating HTML - the h2g2 site takes the GuideML & translates it into HTML so your browser can display it.
Sure I'll help with some code - what did you want to know?

GuideML tags in HTML

I would like to know how to make a HEADER, a BOX TAG and a BOXHOLDER TAG. And can you tell me the difference between the HEADER and the BOXTAG. The only difference I see is the color and size of the text below it in your example page (maybe I'm just stupid ).
Thanx in advance

GuideML tags in HTML

Hi
You're right, the difference between HEADER & BOX is in the treatment of the text below the header bar.
You can find links to all the GuideML tags with code examples & instructions etc on the GuideML Clinic page ( http://www.h2g2.com/A187229 )

I know that there are GuideML code for the tags and so on on that page, but I don't use GuideML, I use HTML. How do i make the same tags in HTML?

You can see the GuideML & equivalent HTML for a couple of tags here http://www.h2g2.com/A184835
For any others the easiest way to find the HTML is to do a view source in your browser on a page with the appropriate GuideML tag on it.
To be honest I think it would be better (& easier) to stick with the GuideML tags - h2g2 may not continue to support all HTML in the future.
