... for Christmas?
I haven't been in the mood for various reasons and I haven't even started decorating the house or purchasing anything for the great Christmas giveaway but .... I've just looked out the window and it's snowing.
It's positively chucking it down and all of a sudden I have a funny feeling that maybe it is the season to be jolly and I should perhaps brush off ill-health and a heavy few months and just join the festivities.
Snow, I love it. I love the way it drops a silent blanket so that if it snows overnight nobody knows until the morning.
I love it because it tidies up my messy garden.
I love it because it's always such a surprise.
It's snowing.

Thank you Prof, I just got by email!
There only appears to be a couple of inches so far - maybe it'll stay on and we'll have a drift in the morning.

I made my christmas cake today. It rose rather a lot and looks like a very large alcoholic cupcake.
Christmas pudding tomorrow ...

I don't bake (or even cook much) so anything we'll be eating this Christmas will be made by others to be eaten by me.
I'd love to have the knack for it but after a few ventures I realised I needed to use every bowl, spoon, fork, knife, plate, and any other utensil you can imagine to bake even the most simple thing - it was more trouble than it was worth. The cleaning up afterwards took longer than it did for the family to demolish the fruits of my labour.
Prof, I don't mind driving in the snow - it's the other drivers that worry me. We live surrounded by steep hills and it's always a challenge in winter to get up or down them without hitting something and in recent years when it hasn't been ice or snow we've had the little dips and bends on the hills flood.
How exciting is winter in the UK.

I gather it's quite a common affliction.
I do like to buy nice from the bakery though and I only have to clean up crumbs then.

Great to see you so happy, Fizzy! Snow has that effect on us, too - although I'm a little wary of it after last year...
6.30am. Just been out to have a check - it's a fantastically clear morning, no sign of daylight yet, s shining brightly. No snow though.
It's rained overnight, and the weather forecast on the radio warns some of it may have frozen overnight. I'm glad we got the central heating installed when we did!
We're having to wait before we can get out , we're still getting things out of storage after moving house. This is the latest we've ever waited for them, usually Gina has me putting them up on December 1st! (I *hate* putting them up, but love it once they are!) Hopefully we'll have them up by next weekend...

We usually have the decorations up the first weekend in December - the one just behind us there.
But I'm now aiming for next weekend - if not mid-week.
I hate taking them down from the loft and putting the empty boxes back up, such a lot of bulky boxes and so little room in the house for them.
Snow's still here though.

It's looking decidedly slushy at the minute so that should cheer them up.
Don't tell them that the forecast is for more.
