h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

There isn't much in life we get for free but this evening daughter went to a free concert at Belfast City Hall thanks to all those celebs currently kicking around town.

She saw Snow Patrol, Boyce Avenue and some called Jason Derulo. Tickets were allocated on a first come, first serve basis some weeks ago and despite me being up at 7.30am the website doing the allocating couldn't cope with the interest. We failed to get any tickets, the 15,000 were allocated within the hour and daughter sort of resigned herself to hearing about it on the news.

Yesterday morning daughter took a call from a school friend. Said friend had just that moment acquired 4 tickets from a neighbour and daughter was her first thought on the matter.

So that is the story of how daughter attended the best gig ever and it didn't cost a penny. Happy days.

Oh, before I forget JD was acting the yesterday at a press conference - apparently he only discovered on boarding his flight to Belfast that there was no first class and he had to content himself with a window seat among the other workaday plebs! Gave him quite a turn by all accounts and he still hasn't quite gotten over it.

How cool! And I particularly enjoyed the dramatic tension of will she, won't she...

Oh, I saw some of it on telly - the City Hall looked A-Ma-Zing! So great she was able to go along.

Snow Patrol has reached the mainstream, and middle-aged ears, surely.

How fun!!!! Been so long since I've taken in a concert or other demonstration of live music...
