A Conversation for The Definitive Collection of Urban Legends
Walt is spinning in his... freezer.

I'm a huge fan of animation, so one of my favorite urban legends is the assertion the Walt Disney is not, in fact, buried in the grave which bears his name, but his body is frozen, being stored in cryogenic stasis until he can be properly revived. I like to picture him suspended in the ice of the rink where the Mighty Ducks play.

I'm not entirely sure that this is a legend. Walt was quite wealthy, and quite eccentric, so for him to have done this is not a far stretch.

I've heard this one for years, but a friend in Florida says it's bunk...
He was cremated and planted in a cemetery in Fla. just like the poor folk.

rumour vs. hoax vs. legend?
Anyone care to draw some lines in the sand?

A bit of research reveals that the legend also includes a bit about his body being concealed in a room beneath the ride "Pirates of the Caribbean" at the original Disneyland in Anaheim. I guess there's enough of a story here to merit its inclusion.
As far as the rumor vs hoax vs legend thing...if it is or was widely believed, it's good enough for this collection.

I'd have to agree with that...
Any b.s. story that is widely believed or told in hushed awe should be included here!
