Spiders and toilet seats

Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer...

G'day Gargleblaster,

Sorry i haven't had time yet to go through all your urban myths yet smiley - sadface

I thought you would be interested to know that there was actually a popular song in my parents time called 'Redback on the toilet seat'.

Now, i'm not saying that they had evolved specially to only live under toilet seats because they haven't, however in days gone by a lot of toilets in Australia were outdoors and often away from the house in the back yard.

It was, in fact, a very wise thing to do to check under the toilet seat (usually wooden) and the surrounding environs by torch light before one got too comfortable..................

Cheers, Linus smiley - smiley

Take your time...the collection isn't going anywhere. smiley - winkeye

I wouldn't be shocked to learn that the redback was the basis for the Blush Spider invention. You'll find that most urban legends have a basis in truth, no matter how small.
