Regardless of what statisticians may tell you, when two options are presented to you, you will always choose the wrong one. This is particularly the case with swing doors - if it should be pulled open you'll push it first. The risk to the individual in question directly proportional to the number of people on hand to see them make a fool of themselves.

This works especially well with Minesweeper in Windows. You get down to the last 4 squares in 'Expert' mode, and either way will fit the numbers you have uncovered. Guess which option you ALWAYS choose?
Unless of course you happen to demonstrate this to a friend to show how unfair life is. Mind you (getting severely paranoid here), if you RELY on this latter effect, it won't work.
