*ahem*
Is this thing on?
*ahem*
"The girl next door thinks I
was born a little late.
She goes round setting fires
from which there was no escape.
She says
'Some of them burn for someone else
some of them complete themselves'"

Is this a private karaoke lounge or can anyone join? And why did we start a new one? Last one too busy? Now here's my song...
"She works hard, hard, hard for her money,
Hard, hard, so hard for it honey.
She works hard for the money so you better treat her right. So right"

The Ghost Of TV's Frink Posted Nov 21, 1999
It isn't private at all......and you are right - I started this one because the other was so long.

Groovy shorter lines for the microphone...
"They say we're young and we don't know
we won't find out untiiiiiillllll we grow.
Well, I don't know if all that's true,
cuz you got me and baby I got you....
Babe, I got you babe
I got you babe
I got flowers in the spring.
I got you to wear my ring.
And when I'm sad you're a clown
And when I get scared you're always arooooound."
Ok doesn't work as well as a solo act, but still a wonderful tacky song....

Freedom Posted Nov 21, 1999
How's this for tacky:
"And IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII will always love Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I will always loove youuuuuuuuuu, I will aaaaaaaalwaaaaays
Looooooooooooooooooove
Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

"Brother bought a coconut
He bought it for a dime
Sister had another one
She paid it for a lime
She put the lime in the coconut
She drank 'em both up
She put them the lime in the coconut
She drank 'em both up
She put the lime in the coconut
She called the doctor, woke him up
Said 'Doctor, ain't there nothin I can take
I said Do-octor, to relieve this belly-ache"

Her name was Lola.
She was a showgirl
with yellow feathers in her hair
and a dress right down to there.....

The minute he walked in the joint (baadaam)
I could see he was a man of distinction
A real big spender
Good looking
So divine
Wouldn't you like to know what's going on in my mind?
Well let me get right to the point (baadaam)
I don't pop my cork for every man I see
Hey Big Spender (Hey Big Spender)
Spend a little time with me!

Hey Luna, see Practical Magic recently? Great song I almost put it in.
"Here we come, walking down the street
we get the funniest looks from everyone we meet.
Hey, Hey we're the Monkees,
people say we monkey around but we're too busy singing
to put anybody down.....
Go where we want to, do what we like to do
then any time we get restless,
there's always something neeewwwwww.
Hey, Hey...."
Well, you get the idea..

Never listen to that song last thing before you leave the house. I did that once and for at least half an hour I had
"Daaaa-daaaa-daaaa-da-da-da-daaaaaaa,
Da-da-da-daaaaaa,
Hey jude"
running through my head over and over and over and over.....

Great Movie!!!
However, when I posted that song I was listening to Harry's 'Nielson Schmielson'
Which caused me to remember the ladies dancing 'round the table.

Ahhh, I see. Actually the first time I ever heard that song was on the Muppet show, many moons ago. And I was surprised to find it in Practical Magic. And now that leads to another song..
"It ain't easy being green.
it's the color of so many ordinary things.
............"

Turn the World Around! Hey, that was a great one. But I think I first heard the other one on some children's show when I was very young.

The Muppets rock. I even watched the new Muppet Show occasionally although I think they took it off. One of my favorite Christmas specials was the one with John Denver and the Muppets, which is never on anymore and which is not for sale, but you can still get the album from it and it is my all time favorite Christmas album. The show is also where I heard "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce for the first time, as well as "For What it's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. Both great songs.
Here is my next one:
"Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other siiiiiiide.
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions
and rainbows have nothing to hiiiiide.
*skips to chorus*
someday we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers, and me. Lalalalalalala
The lovers, the dreamers and me."

This looks familiar
vaguely familiar
almost unreal yet
it's too soon to feel yet
close to my soul
and yet so far away
I'm going to go back there someday
Gotta love gonzo
