Entry: Hayao Miyazaki - A4457487
Author: DogNamedTruman - U1585430
A basic overview of Hayao Miyazaki and his work.
I noticed there wasn't much, if anything, about him in the guide, so I thought this would be a good way to plug a hole, and learn a bit more about one of my heros.
About three hours and fourteen footnotes later, this is what I've come up with.
Suggestions, comments, and critisism appreciated.

My hero too, and I'm proud to post here first.
This is a well-written Entry too. One slight problem will be that, if it goes on to the EG, the links to non-EG Entries will be removed (because the Eds fear someone changing a linked and hence apparently BBC-approved Entry into something profane).
So you'll maybe need to find another Totoro, but in the meantime, thanks for spotting that one.

Very good entry indeed. I'd never heard of him until now but I have heard of Princess Mononoke.
One formatting suggestion - some of the subheaders should be turned into headers. The Editors have always preferred headers when breaking an entry down into sections and subheaders for breaking down sections. Headers also break up an edited entry into sections for the new mobile/pda version of h2g2 and are being encouraged even more by the Editors.
I'd say "Enjoying Miyazaki-In Your Own Language", "Striking a Chord - Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi" and "The Future of Miyazaki" should be headers, especially that last one since it's the conclusion to the entry.
Well done

Thanks for the tips and comments.
I certainly hope they don't end up removing my links. It took me quite a while to find some of them.

As far as linking to other h2g2 entries is concerned, an edited entry can only contain links to other edited entries because edited entries never change. Unedited entries can be changed or even deleted by the author at any time, so a link to an unedited entry about - for instance - Oklahoma in an edited entry about tornadoes could at some point in the future become a link to an entry about the author's cat because the author decided they didn't want the Oklahoma entry any more.
Edited entries can't change, which is why you can only link to them in other edited entries, so the links to 'My Neighbour Totoro' and 'Spirited Away' will have to be taken out.
Also, when linking to h2g2 entries the code should be this way:
text instead of text
As far as links to web pages outside h2g2 and the BBC are concerned, they should be okay as long as they meet the <./>HouseRules</.> regarding links to other websites, but they may be removed if at any time in the future they become a broken link because the page or the website has disappeared.

"I certainly hope they don't end up removing my links. It took me quite a while to find some of them".
Well, you could do what I do, which is to drop a message to the original authors and ask if they would consider polishing their Entry to a standard which would pass PR and thus enter the EG.

Are links to Post articles (non-editable by the original author) allowed?

I'm really glad to see an entry about Miyazaki, as he has done so much to dispel the myth that anime is all stupid and devoid of any artistic qualities. I used to be very disparaging over anime, until my sister made me take her to Howl's Moving Castle in honour of her birthday. Now, although it's not necessarily to my tastes, I can at least recognise it as an art form.

I understand what you mean, Miyazaki has this strange power to capture the minds, attention, and imagination even of those who might not see such a thing normally.
I have great respect and honor for the man, you can imagine my surprise when I saw that he was scantly mentioned in the Guide.
Now that you know more of his works, you can rent them and watch them with your little sister.

I added a small bit on celebrity voice actors in the english dubs.
If anyone knows of any others, feel free to let me know so I can edit them in.

Emily Mortimer (famous English actress, daughter of author John Mortimer, don't really know what she's been in except for Branagh's Love's Labours Lost) was the young girl in Howl's Moving Castle.

Is there anything else I need to do to help this into the EG?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Huzzah! Drinks all around, mates!
Glad to see this entry make it in, it is of subject matter quite close to me.
