The ones I've seen here are actually a bit pink. Not as pink as this, but the same fluffy flower style.

Never liked the poem very much. Too much hatred in it: "Take up our quarrel with the foe"?
We don't do the poppy thing here in Denmark and only recently (2009) introduced a remembrance day, but then official Denmark hasn't been at war from 1864 until 1990. Among other places we have troops in Afghanistan were we have lost 43 of them to date.

Well, it doesn't really matter anyway. I just checked and my pretty poppy has been uprooted. It was apparently unauthorized, heterodox, verboten, malapropos, and just plain unacceptable.
