It was one of those biro~devil days. . My words were flawed and nothing flowed, and then it snowed. I threw my manuscript into the fire but it gave me little warmth.

You know these days, when the devil seems to sit in the margin and leer, and turns poetic beauty into guilt and fear. So you run outside feeling ill and pale, and eventually find a corner in the pub with a glass of ale .

They always pass, though, these biro-devil days. The next day can dawn bright and sunlit and the words dance on the page. The poetic muse smiles upon you while you drink your tea, ,and even the devil lets you be.



It's amazing where these smileys can take you, eh? heheh. Who needs the shamanic quest on the mountainside, the meditation retreat, the spa holiday. Just take a walk through the h2g2 smiley list and the world is yours.
