Colleague of mine used to work as a tourist guide when he was a young student. He travelled with old age pensioners to the Rhein and sailed with them past Lorelei's cliff.
Whether he made this up or it is a true story I can't tell, but one silent night some drunk nutter was standing on the top of the cliff singing and shouting.
- Oh, is that Lorelei, the elderly ladies wanted to know.
- Yes, I arranged this just for you, he said - and started collecting tips
