A man walks up to a cashier, places a $20 bill on the counter, and asks for change. When the cash register is open, he pulls a gun out and holds up the cashier. He empties the cash box ($15 worth) and runs off, leaving the $$20 on the counter.
Darwin Award winner: Two men set up their July 4th fireworks display and deck chair to lie back and watch the show. In order to have a good, clear place to launch and watch their show from, they climb to the top of a small structure, realizing after they lit their fireworks that it was a 500,000 gallon fuel tank. Boom.

he was of course caught.
