A Conversation for Guitar Songs For Beginners

1 2 3 4 are fingers. And then "T" for thumb (even if it won't be used here, it's a handy piece of info). Also, instead of describing open chords as 'bright' they are more accurately "harmonically full". You can also mention that open strings will have different resonances than fretted ones because of the difference of material between the plastic or ivory nut and the metal fret.

I know that neither of these have to do with beginners songs, but when I read articles it's usually the information that I pick up along the way that I retain more than the main point.

Not much except that you could mention tab and chord sites and have links at the bottom. www.ultimate-guitar.com, www.mxtabs.net, etc.
Those are pretty brilliant resources.
