Techology and beer and divine retribution

On Friday evening, shortly after a drunken but still fairly eloquent anti-theist rant on another site, I spilled a pint of Summer Lightning (a lovely bottle conditioned ale) on my laptop. This means that I now have an ex-laptop. Alas, the main PC still won't recognise the internet.
The upshot of all this is that I'll be predominantly posting only from work for the near future, and can't do a lot of that as we're rather busy.
Hey ho.

Well, that was a brief disappearance. Thanks to a new network card I'm back on line with the main PC.
While in PC World (I know, I know, but it's stupidly close to work) I asked about XP laptops. Surprisingly they had two. Unsurprisingly they are both pants.

I don't really need it but a lappy is a lot quieter than the PC (which in a studio flat is quite important when one's running uTorrent all night) and I've still got an eye to playing live again.
The PC World ones weren't *that* bad but let down by the processor or the hard disc.
I'm on the hunt for a 2GHz dual core with three gig ram and the bigger the disc the better, with no Internet Security bloatware! Whatever happens it's going to have to wait until after the festival season.

Thankfully my Torrents PC is in the kitchen, away from my neighbours (noisy buggar that it is )
In fact all three of them are...odd that.

Oy matey! Whilst you are thinking of spending good money on PC related equipment, I hope you are giving serious thought to the cost of getting to Hull!!! Get your priorities right - you are needed on the East coast.
