This is a great little thread. A bit like staring at a car crash
The best thing about it is that all this fascinated horror, with nobody quite able to throw the Entry away, is kind of proving the author's point.
At least I think that was his point...

Actually, I was writting a guide entry the other day, and I noticed this in the (brunel) 'write an entry' page:
"Recommend a Guide Entry for the Edited Guide
If you're not content to have created a Guide Entry that's accessible to anyone using the h2g2 search engine, why not take that extra step and put it up for Peer Review, for possible inclusion in the Edited Guide? You can find out how to do this at the PeerReview Page."
Now it seems to me that this is baddly worded and seems to sugest that any entry is acceptable for Peer Review.

And is another reason why we need a front page for the EG, because that would be the page that the Brunel button, ideally, would link to And that page would describe which entries ought to be submitted to PR and which should not.
Which would cut down, but by no means eliminate, PR threads such as this
